CooCoothenoo
American rider Tommy Aquino has been killed in what appears to be a freak head-on collision at a motocross track. I really liked this kid. He was in British Superstock 1000 last year and was a race winner. He would have been graduating to British Superbikes this season. Saw him a lot on telly and at Knockhill last year. He definitely had the talent to go places. Gone at 21. Bloody shame.

t1t3h
I'm really looking forward to the main race tomorrow night, it was brilliant last year! It'll be the 1st 'live' race I've seen this year due to being too busy to watch Dubai and Daytona.
Mackie The Staggie
I'm really looking forward to the main race tomorrow night, it was brilliant last year! t1t3h
Looks like we will get over 300 laps here, I think the record is something like 292. I'm sure it's the 3rd or 4th time that I've watched a race from Bathurst and a car has hit a kangaroo. I was just about to type that I wanted the GTR to win, that definitely isn't happening anymore after that crash!
Mackie The Staggie
Nope, that Nissan's not going to make it. Shame as I liked it's chances also.

Mackie The Staggie
That was a great race. missed the last 3 hours as fatigue won the battle, but the stream is still up showing on demand and have just caught the last 30 mins....WOW, Going to have to look at getting out to this one sometime in the future I think.
t1t3h
Finally caught up with the last 4 hours and I agree, that was an unbelievable half hour. The Schneider and Van Giesbergen battle near the start was my main highlight though, that was some of the best racing I've ever seen.

Mackie The Staggie
First round of the Scottish Rally took place with the Snowman Rally......and it wasn't won by David Bogie. He picked up a puncture in SS3 which saw him drop nearly 2 mins to eventual winner Euan Thornburn. I went up to that stage with my camera and got a few photos. David Bogie and that puncture Quintin Milne and the Lancer The almost mandatory Escorts Mk2 Ford Capri with constant opposite lock

Stu
Surprised Bogie didn't win. Got a run in his Evo a few years back. Getting a shot in the bright green Nova (that won one of the classes last year) was scarier though!
CooCoothenoo
Nice pics Mackie! Did anyone watch the three part series about British touring cars on ITV4 recently? Really enjoyed the first one with Jack Sears, Frank Gardner (the most quotable driver in racing history?) etc... Second episode was okay. Third one was a waste of an hour with utter cretins Plato and Neal reminiscing about their countless episodes of dangerous driving and unsportsmanlike behaviour. I was going to say I'd lost all respect for them, but I didn't actually have any in the first place.
Stu
BBC has some incredible photos of the rally from the weekend - incredible because of the amount of mud! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-26322015 I watched the BTCC series. Would have liked to see an episode purely on the Super Touring era. That was a fantastic time with ridiculous amounts of money being spent. The Volvo estate is one of the most ridiculous ideas ever - but Honda have one for this year's series. "The man's an animal"
Sermani
Great pictures Mackie. Usually get to a couple of rounds of the SRC every year but my work rota for this year means am uable to. But am of the weekend of the Malcolm Wilson in a fortnight so that will be my fix for the year. I was hoping Davie Bogie would have had his new R5 by then but seems not.
Mackie The Staggie
Many thanks for the kind words gentleman. Second episode was okay. Third one was a waste of an hour with utter cretins Plato and Neal reminiscing about their countless episodes of dangerous driving and unsportsmanlike behaviour. I've got the BTCC show on sky plus, by the sounds of it I should just delete the last one just now (a few others at work have said the same thing as yourself, one of them is a Plato fan also!!!) BBC has some incredible photos of the rally from the weekend - incredible because of the amount of mud! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-26322015 I watched the BTCC series. "The man's an animal" One of my "wish lists" if I was too win the Euro Millions mega jackpots is too start a racing team called Inappropriate Motorsports, which would see me attempting a couple of local rallies in a Vovlo 850 Estate just because I could...well I can dream. Usually get to a couple of rounds of the SRC every year but my work rota for this year means am uable to. Think the R5 has been shelved till later this year, that's what was going around Inverness anyway.
