Jeff Venom
Bump. Been listening to Every Country's Sun almost non-stop. I feel like this is their best in a looong time and some of the tunes are going to be magnificent live. The title track closer is just a thing of absolute beauty.
Miguel Sanchez
I started listening to Mogwai in about June and have made it as far as Happy Songs For Happy People. How many P&Bers are going to the Hydro?

Proper goosebumps music.I'll be at The Hydro. Also got Ride at the QH before it. The Hydro will be the gig of the year for me.I really hope they're selling the poster image of the Hydro as a tshirt. This one:

Guest Pampered Adolescent
Some of my live reviews here: http://www.youngteam.co.uk/brightlight/eng/gig020603.php http://www.youngteam.co.uk/brightlight/eng/gig300104.php http://www.youngteam.co.uk/brightlight/eng/gig050406.php http://www.youngteam.co.uk/brightlight/eng/gig090406.php http://www.youngteam.co.uk/brightlight/eng/gig081108.php http://www.youngteam.co.uk/brightlight/eng/gig260909.php http://www.youngteam.co.uk/brightlight/eng/gig281111.php http://www.youngteam.co.uk/brightlight/eng/gig281114.php On some occasions I was just too pished to write a decent review. As some have mentioned, they are far better live than on official releases. Also, check arcive.org and you can find some brilliant quality bootlegs, semi-endorsed (not prohibited) by the band. Enjoy!

Amazing that archive.org stuff. I just found a link to my first ever Mogwai show. Guest Pampered Adolescent
Wow! The closest I have ever been to 'early adopter' were Ash and the Delgados, this is, in my opinion, quite early for Mogwai. [Though I do have the Club Beetroot EP with Mogwai on 7 inch. [sorry, a Hong Kong Keyboard.....] Cheers PA
George Parr
Really enjoying the new album. Certainly better than their last couple of records (excluding soundtracks!). I want Old Poisons to hurt live.
Miguel Sanchez
I got the Special Moves live album on CD the other day. There's a download code in it to get some extra tracks, but the website you have to go to no longer exists. Anyone got any tips to find a download of them somewhere? I'm trying and not having much luck.

George Parr
Hydro gig a week on Saturday. Arguably one of the biggest shows of Mogwai's career. Hope they nail it.

Hope they nail it. I saw Mogwai about ten years ago in a small club in Tokyo. Probably about 150 people there, absolute max. It was spectacularly good. I also saw Explosions in the Sky in front of four or five thousand at a festival, and the stage was just too big for them, even though the set was pretty great. I sometimes wonder if less is more with post rock.
Le Tout P'ti FC
Not their best tonight. Poor sound. One or two tickets unsold! Going to see them in Manchester in a few weeks in a smallish room and I am absolutely certain it will be significantly better than the Hydro. Fosters / Hot Dogs / Selfies....
Ira Gaines
A not very big band didn't sell out a 12,000 arena? Stop the presses.

Going to see them in Manchester in a few weeks in a smallish room and I am absolutely certain it will be significantly better than the Hydro. Fosters / Hot Dogs / Selfies.... Late to this one. Would agree that the larger venue didn’t suit them as much. When you go to a Mogwai gig you don’t want the noise escaping up into the rafters. You want the sound trapped in a small space with you, to the point your ears start to bleed. That said the best Mogwai gig I’ve been to was the open air Zidane one down on the Broomielaw. Helicon 1 sounded spectacular as the notes echoed back off the surrounding buildings.
Craig94
Saw them at BBC Pacific Quay in October then at the Barrowlands a few years back for their 20th Anniversary celebration gigs. Amazing live band

Jimi Shandrix
Good to see Mogwai back. This is the first taster for the new album in Feb 2021. It's very nice.
