eindhovendee Posted November 17, 2013 Share Posted November 17, 2013 No kids, not ugly, don't use the word 'banter' in their profile. Edit; just read that back and I don't consider that someone who has kids means they are a lower standard, it's just not my preference. This is where you are going wrong. Clean and breathing or at the very least only recently dead. mid-table sounds a bit of a fussy for that Sarge. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Gaz FFC Posted November 17, 2013 Share Posted November 17, 2013 Probably the only sensible post in this thread. I'm 34 and it's a fucking nightmare. Everyone's either already paired off, or the single people in their early 20s look at me like I'm their dad. I don't even look particularly old. Even dating sites are so much hard work to get anything out of if you have any sort of standards. I'm not talking about shagging websites like PoF, I mean proper dating websites. I'm clearly out the loop, what's PoF? 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mid-table Posted November 17, 2013 Share Posted November 17, 2013 I'm clearly out the loop, what's PoF?Plenty of Fish. Mainly used by blokes to proposition girls who think they are going to meet their soulmate. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Gaz FFC Posted November 17, 2013 Share Posted November 17, 2013 Plenty of Fish. Mainly used by blokes to proposition girls who think they are going to meet their soulmate. Ahhh I've heard of this. I assumed PoF was a dating site in the genuine mode and not a shagging website like the ones advertised on porn sites. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mid-table Posted November 18, 2013 Share Posted November 18, 2013 Ahhh I've heard of this. I assumed PoF was a dating site in the genuine mode and not a shagging website like the ones advertised on porn sites. It is a dating site, but a bit looser than some others. I'm no expert, but I would say that the hierarchy is probably match being the most relationshipy, then places like guardian soulmates, then places like PoF, then places like adultfriendfinder (if that's still even going). 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
The Real Saints Posted November 18, 2013 Share Posted November 18, 2013 I have never even considered internet dating despite my non-existence of a love life, but I did go on 'Tinder' out of curiosity. I'd seen some of the DECE lads on here say that there were fine-looking young ladies on this app, so I decided to see for myself. I was surprised to see that this was indeed the case. I even indulged in a chat with a fine lass who started a conversation with me. After three days of endless banter, I prepared myself to ask for her hand in marriage. It was simply meant to be. Then I found out that she's 5 inches taller than me. I told her that we can continue to be Tinder Buddies 4 Lyf, but we must both continue to look for our one true love/soulmate elsewhere. A pretty gutting experience overall. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
tinkerbelle Posted November 18, 2013 Share Posted November 18, 2013 Worked on a building site last year where the main Building control officer was female. One of the workers found that she had a PoF profile! He started sending her messages, trying to be smart with her, mocking her work ability. She was not a happy bunny. She ended up questioning every aspect of the job, causing a lot of grief for a lot of the workers. The site boss told the worker to leave her alone if he wanted to keep his job. For what it's worth, she was quite nice and worth a pump. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mr Rational Posted November 18, 2013 Share Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) I know a fair few blokes on the rigs that have multiple online dating accounts across several sites. Their motto is 'pussy or death' I think, god knows what would happen if their wives found out. AyrshireTon Posted November 18, 2013 Share Posted November 18, 2013 I posted on page 1 that my ex wife was using the same site I did, having seen my success with it. Turns out her new found love that she was so happy with is a nut job after all and she dumped him. Pleasing. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

AyrshireTon Posted November 18, 2013 Share Posted November 18, 2013 Scary ex thread up on nsfw, tell us more Oh, I'll get to that sometime. The guy she dumped was a control freak and a total tight-arse. Given he was known to a number of folk I knew and we warned her of this at the beginning, I'm glad he is out of my kids' lives. She just needed to find out for herself. Best line was - "I kept it going with him cos I didn't want to throw away the last 8 months". Yet she was quite happy to throw away the last 7 years when she walked away from me. Karma and all that. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
~~~ Posted November 18, 2013 Share Posted November 18, 2013 I've got a mate who has become obsessed with online dating, most weeks he's off out on 3 different dates, costing him a small fortune Its got so bad he'll even arrange to meet girls for a "lunch date" at work for an hour. Generally starting to become worried about his obsession. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
