Ira Gaines
Last night's show looked a bit wild in a bad way. Still capable of cracking shows though. The tour shows have been excellent this year for the most part.
WestEndJag
I'm the first to point out certain things I dislike about ICW but gonna be honest across all fan groups and social media I've not saw any mentions of people being fed up.
Ira Gaines
People need to pick their times rather than feel the need to attend every show. And that, right there, is a major problem with having so many shows. ICW used to be a place where they built their crowd up and then had the shows far enough apart that all of them were going. Now they're not selling out venues that they had absolutely zero problem with before. They absolutely have to stop with the FNFC stuff. At least before Fear and Loathing. If they don't, that crowd is going to be a total shocker.
Christophe
Don't see the problem with it. They absolutely need to have new weekly content on the on demand service if they want to build on fan base. The one thing they could do is perhaps cut the FNFC show down to an hour and get 3/4 weeks worth of footage from each Sunday night taping. That would cut on the number of shows. 1/2 shows out of a taping is maybe stretching it a bit thin. But no-one is going to miss F&L due to squeezing in a few FNFC tapings running up to it if that is what you mean? Who would prioritise it that way? -
Christophe
Also they should have used each of the tour dates for FNFC tapings. Pretty silly to have those on and only use a couple of them for FNFC footage. -
WestEndJag
Thing is we are still looking at this from a "live show" perspective. The FNFC are simply TV tapings and that is that. Between the on demand subscription fees and whatever fee they take from Italian tv channel, they likely cover most of the cost of putting on one of these shows.
Thereisalight..
I personally feel ICW have reached their zenith, it was probably around the time of the BBC documentaries and F&L at the SECC. IMO they are on their way slowly down
honestly united
They need to start spreading the fan base out if they want to get any bigger. I think the tours have been a good start, but that needs to be built on to make ICW a UK wide organisation rather than just a Glasgow based organisation. Obviously they need to have FNFC to give them on demand footage - its the fine line between ICW telling people its a TV taping and tempering their expectations, and the fans wanting to turn up to watch a live ICW show.
Poet of the Macabre
I've also seen a drop in interest in the shows. Maybe it'll pick up again near the Hydro.
Ira Gaines
They don't need FNFC at all. Plenty of promotions have stuck to their usual model despite their on demand. There's absolutely no need for so many shows.
Snakebite
FNFC is still at the end of the day, 4 hours worth of wrestling on the same night, on your feet in a stinky wee midden of a club. Hardly sitting in club seats at the hydro or in the comfort of your scratcher at home.
Stellaboz
So dinnae go, ken?

Hardly sitting in club seats at the hydro or in the comfort of your scratcher at home. And it's a pretty shite venue that's hard to get a good atmosphere in, even when it's rammed. And I've not been to a Garage show in years. Had the chance not long ago and the card looked great. Still didn't want to go. Oh, and a shite nightclub doesn't have to be a bad wrestling venue. The Classic Grand was tremendous.
MikeyVanBasten3
I think there is more atmosphere at the garage than any of the shows they do in edinburgh. Been to about 10 shows in Glasgow over the last year and nothing beats that atmosphere. Been to 1 in edinburgh and it was fucking dead
Ira Gaines
Everything beats the Garage. It's a fucking terrible venue.
cb_diamond
Everything beats the Garage. It's a fucking terrible venue.This. For gigs as well as wrestling.
cb_diamond
Haha red lightning taking huge offence to a suggestion that too many fnfc tapings are saturating the Glasgow market by ranting about how's it is all for the Italian tv deal...marbles... lost
WestEndJag
id say in the end he explained himself pretty well. They need to produce content for Italian tv and their on demand and using the garage as a "studio" surely the cheapest and most economic way of doing so?
Ira Gaines
That doesn't answer any questions on saturation though. So my guess is that he knows it's a problem.
WestEndJag
Saturation to be would suggest poor attendances and while the attendances aren't sell outs, they certainly aren't poor. Not from what I've seen anyway.
