AberdeenBud
CELTIC'S Neil Lennon has been voted as the Scottish Football Writers’ Association Manager of the Year. The Parkhead boss missed out on the PFA prize last week as it went to Queen of the South’s Allan Johnston. But he has scooped the writers’ honour for the second year in a row and Lennon insists that means more than being linked with a move to England. The Northern Irishman will collect his award in Glasgow next Sunday evening and he said: “It’s a great honour. “This one means more this year. I’m very grateful. It means a helluva lot to me and it’s a huge privilege. “It’s down to the efforts of the players and the backroom staff. “The first one is always good. But to do it again means you are carrying on the good work, continuing the progression and catching the eyes of people.” “Some other managers have produced some excellent work such as Staurt McCall, Allan Johnston, Terry Butcher, Jackie McNamara and Derek Adams. “Every manager is under pressure under their own terms. I voted for Stuart and Derek was my next choice. To get it ahead of those guys, I’m very proud. “This means a lot more than being linked to any club because there is real substance to it.” Lennon has been mentioned as a successor to Davie Moyes at Everton following the Scot’s move to Manchester United. But the Celtic boss said: “The Everton thing is just speculation. It was Roberto Martinez yesterday, it’s me today, it could be someone else tomorrow.” Moyes will take over from legendary Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson at the end of the campaign. Lennon has forged a good working relationship with Fergie in the past 12 months and hopes that continues after his dugout retirement. He said: “I still have Sir Alex’s number. I wish him well. His retirement came as a real shock. I didn’t see it coming. We’ll never see his likes again – to be at Manchester United for so long and to be so successful. “I’m also delighted for Moyesey. It’s brilliant. For a while I thought he might have been overlooked for a top-four job. “I’m not saying Everton is not a big job but it’s maybe not one of the top-four clubs. “I thought he would have got it sooner. United is the dream job and he has earned it.”

The Grass Is Greener.
Don't you just love Scottish football? Even though Celtic have won the league, they still manage to have everyone having a right good laugh at them.
Monkey Tennis
They wouldn't print it if the majority of them cringed at it though. They lap it all up and believe what they're told. The embarrassing state of the Scottish football media reflects directly on the intelligence of Old Firm supporters as that's who it's written for. This is the point. The journalists and editors concerned with putting such pieces together won't be nearly as stupid as McGrain or their readers. They will however be cynical enough to do it for the reasons given above. Enraging as these articles are, we should probably try to ignore them. They're not written for people like us.

Broken_Hearted
Utterly tragic stuff. Hopefully they're so full of rage about this during the final, that they storm out in disgust.
Confidemus
"I do not want to talk much about this because I still have a contract. At the moment I am Celtic player.” Nothing like a bit of commitment eh, Victor? To be fair, he has a point about Borussia Dortmund coming from nowhere: Honours Domestic German Championship Winners (: 1955–56, 1956–57, 1962–63, 1994–95, 1995–96, 2001–02, 2010–11, 2011–12 Runners-up (5): 1948–49, 1960–61, 1965–66, 1991–92, 2012–13DFB-Pokal Winners (3): 1964–65, 1988–89, 2011–12 Runners-up (2): 1962–63, 2007–08DFB-Supercup/DFL-Supercup Winners (4): 1989, 1995, 1996, 2008 Runners-up (2): 2011, 2012DFB-Ligapokal Runners-up (1): 2003Oberliga West Winners (6): 1947–48, 1948–49, 1949–50, 1952–53, 1955–56, 1956–57 European [edit]UEFA Champions League Winners (1): 1996–97UEFA Cup Winners' Cup Winners (1): 1965–66UEFA Cup Runners-up (2): 1992–93, 2001–02UEFA Super Cup Runners-up (1): 1997 Worldwide [edit]Intercontinental Cup Winners (1): 1997 Oh, wait..
Londonhibs
Aye, but when they won the Champions League they had players from all over the world, rather than a stones throw from Parkhead. Clearly a tainted achievement.
