1320Lichtie
You must have a cracking holiday allowance in your job. Seems as if you're always on holiday! Offshore, be weeks away and weeks back. Most people I know are months about but I did know somebody that managed to land 2 weeks on 5 weeks off!!!!

Hedgecutter
Good old fashioned toilet cubicles with coat hangers on the back of the doors. Highly practical.

Gaz FFC
2 days left before leaving my job to go travelling. Boss just informed me I have to "work my socks off" until I leave. I downed tools 2 weeks ago. Not a single f**k given. You want me to work harder you'll need to pay me more. Probably the reason my boss hates me and my pish.

Deeboy
but I did know somebody that managed to land 2 weeks on 5 weeks off!!!! Surely they were ad-hoc? I've never heard of that shift pattern! Get his employers details please!

1320Lichtie
Surely they were ad-hoc? I've never heard of that shift pattern! Get his employers details please! I've no idea who he works for but he managed to wrangle it just after his Mrs gave birth to twins, it was with a different company though and a better salary than his monthly shifts afaik. It was in Norway so it might've been with a Norwegian company, I have no idea about the oil industry tbh even though half of Arbroath seems to have managed to get into it through Hallis etc. Fair few jobs lost recently though, never been something that's really appealed to me although I was close to getting a trainee job in Montrose Halliburton when I left school...
WhiteRoseKillie
Sixteen months post treatment, still no sign of the cancer returning.
WhiteRoseKillie
Brilliant. How many months do you have before you get the all clear? Five years till you can say you've got rid, but having had a wee dance with the bæstard, I'm checking every wee symptom that might point to a return. So far, so good - but I still open my mouth wide when the doc's about to feed the camera down through my nose. It's not painful, just... wrong, somehow.

WhiteRoseKillie
Thanks for all the nice posts, chaps. Silver lining is that I've slimmed down a fair bit (!), jacked in the fags (kinda the kick up the arse I needed), started eating a bit healthier and getting more exercise. I'm probably healthier than I was two years ago!
