Casual Bystander Posted September 6, 2014 Share Posted September 6, 2014 More similarities with Quebec when Yes pulled 3 points ahead with a week to go but still lost. Squeaky bum time. You do realise how the Canadian government pulled that figure back? Through breaking funding guidelines, gerrymandering and vote rigging. I love the "don't go we'll give you everything" bullshit. If that was the case then where were these promises before a referendum was called by electoral mandate? The reason this is happening is because people didn't trust Westminster parties. More fool them if they believe them now. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

mizfit Posted September 6, 2014 Share Posted September 6, 2014 Who was it on here who changed to Yes "because f**k it"? That's basically what one of my bois just said as well. Was always a No, has posted off his postal vote as a Yes. Someone post Dale Carrick's face. My mates done that too, :thumbsup 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Diamonds are Forever Posted September 6, 2014 Share Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) If ever we saw a case of polls not mattering until they show you in the lead then this is it. However I do feel they actually represent the reality. Yes will win, Salmond's embarassing showing in the first debate set us back briefly, but he recovered well and it's been one way traffic from there. To make it even sweeter I got it at 9/2 a few weeks back. Edited September 6, 2014 by Diamonds are Forever 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
~~~ Posted September 6, 2014 Share Posted September 6, 2014 My worry is that the offer of further powers will be enough to sway some soft voters. If the yes poll had happened at a time before they could offer concrete guarantees it would be less of an issue. Squeaky bum time. Probably why for a while not they've changed the tactic to "people want more Devo / Devo Max" in the last few months, 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Granny Danger Posted September 6, 2014 Share Posted September 6, 2014 Poll published today by the Scotsman of 1006 Scottish adults. http://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/top-stories/scottish-independence-no-ahead-by-9-new-poll-1-3201333 Yes 38 No 47 Undecided 15 Pretty bog standard poll result. No comfortably in front as it has been since polling data began. Latest odds: Best odds on Yes: 5/1 (William Hill, Coral, Ladbrokes) Best odds on No: 1/5 (Betfair) Post the latest polls and odds in here along with your interpretation of them. My interpretation of them thus far is that no is cruising to a comprehensive victory. What's yours? This was the opening post on this thread. If the yes poll had happened at a time before they could offer concrete guarantees it would be less of an issue. Squeaky bum time. I think this will go down badly. A "radical deal" hurredly scrambled together a matter of days before the vote, the second Yes go ahead? It's so fucking desperate, it's almost insulting. You do realise how the Canadian government pulled that figure back? Through breaking funding guidelines, gerrymandering and vote rigging. I love the "don't go we'll give you everything" bullshit. If that was the case then where were these promises before a referendum was called by electoral mandate? The reason this is happening is because people didn't trust Westminster parties. More fool them if they believe them now. Wouldn't put it past our lot tbh. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Alert Mongoose Posted September 6, 2014 Share Posted September 6, 2014 Ellis00006 September 2014 8:51pm Recommend3 Scottish independence can't come too so so we can be rid of their moaning and costs to good English taxpayers. Plus it will make a permanent Conservative government much easier and save us from socialism. 5 PEOPLE, 5 COMMENTS engineeruk7206 September 2014 8:51pm Recommend5 Can someone please educate me as to what Scotland actually provide which would want England to actually keep them, apart from oil revenue? ^ ^ ^ Seething 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
If the yes poll had happened at a time before they could offer concrete guarantees it would be less of an issue. Squeaky bum time. they have fucked this up badly. very few people will be convinced this late in the day to go back to No. Also there is only a dozen days left, all they can promise is a constitutional convention. not one new power guaranteed. If no weren't suck arrogant twats they would have a package of meaningful new powers to sell for the past year. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
