Jimbo Jagsfan
The perfect scenario will be if the SNP hold the balance of power, and we wait and see whether the Tories or Labour want to go into coalition with them in order to form a Westminster Government.
Kyle
I see STV have published another report today suggesting that 2/3rds of Scots would welcome another referendum within the next 10 years. Presumably, the bulk of that are no voters, trying to kill off the notion of independence once and for all.
welshbairn
Last week Ladbrokes had the SNP winning more than ten seats at 8/11. Since these two polls, they have stopped taking bets on it and instead are offering 5/6 for them getting more than twenty. It would be political suicide if the SNP went into coalition with either.
Kyle
5/1 for 11-15 is worth a lump
AUFC90
It would be political suicide if the SNP went into coalition with either. They won't. I'd imagine they'll just come out and say that in any vote they'll vote for whatever is best for Scotland.

I don't think either Labour or the Tories would choose to use the SNP in any coalition.
AberdeenBud
I don't think either Labour or the Tories would choose to use the SNP in any coalition. Certainly not an official coalition, supply and demand though? Although you'd have to imagine the snp have zero interest in making Westminster work effectively. Minority government might be ideal for them.
H_B
Certainly not an official coalition, supply and demand though? Yeah, maybe. I think they'd be too hard to deal with in a formal coalition. More trouble than it would be worth. I like minority government and coalitions. Makes things a lot more interesting.

Presumably, the bulk of that are no voters, trying to kill off the notion of independence once and for all. Surely the "bulk" of that will be Yes voters? There can't have been many people will have voted Yes and then decided two months later that they don't want another referendum. Another chunk will be soft No voters who are open to the idea of independence but didn't feel the time was right this year. Some folk might be of the opinion that they can kill off the notion of independence, but they're labouring under a false illusion if that's the case. There are far too many people who want independence for the idea to just go away, even if there was another referendum with a slightly wider winning margin for No.
vikingTON
The Britnats are badly rattled at the moment, turns out that screeching GENURASHUNAL DECISHUN at the top of their voice doesn't actually make that the case.

pandarilla
Vote SNP get Tory is fine by me. Bring that particular scenario on. So this is you trying to get folk to vote Labour and not SNP by suggesting that you'd prefer them to vote SNP just so the Tories win outright? Proper inception stuff going on here.

With the SNP eating into that vote theres a decent chance of winning it back.

Proper inception stuff going on here. Or maybe just so the Conservatives win? All Conservative voters will be supporting the SNP in any SNP/Labour marginal. Just like all Labour supporters will be supporting UKIP in a Conservative/UKIP marginal.

But the way you pointed it out revealed the deep-seated hatred you have for the SNP - it was quite telling. You hate Labour (granted), and yet you now hate the SNP so much more. You want Labour to get a semblance of control back in order to stabilise the union.
