McInnes took our club from 8th/9th to finishing best of the rest. Willie Miller was a disaster for the club as again he did inherited a good team from Smith/Scott but each season the club got less and less points which he replace the good players with players that wasn't near the level. We should have been no-where near relegation in 95 with that team but he continued to persist with the 3-5-2 which didn't work with the players he had. I actually worried about the financial figures as although we have made about 1.4 million over the last 3 seasons the figures include Jonny Hayes transfer to actually make profit for last season (that is with finishing 2nd in each competition). The good thing is Dave Cormack is putting money into the budget this season which is why we have signed players on longer deals including the management team so if we are short this season they hopefully can use what is left to break even. Agreed, we've not looked great. Lucky to get a point against Hearts, lucky to get 3 against Dundee. We have had a couple of good performances, and a couple of professional performances, but a lot of poor ones. Milne gets a fairly easy ride and will continue to do so IMO. Much as he’s sort of disliked, most fans are aware he has kept the club safe from the banks for years. He might get some stick online but that’ll be it. McInnes will be instantly elevated to the level of Hateley, Souness and our own David Robertson. The sloping forehead dimwits that infest all supports will make it very uncomfortable for him to ever Walk the Mat again. Skopje was really difficult to get to along with cost but when you got there it was about 60p a drink, Ibis hotel was £10 a night with a walk in! - what a trip that was! Instead, he has poured petrol on the flames on a consistent basis. For me, the McInnes era is one of missed opportunity. Pretty much every big game has been bottled. We had a proper chance of winning the league against Deila's Celtic team, and they beat us pretty much every game. He's incredibly stubborn, and if a tactic/formation fails, he will persist with it until it works, to portray himself as some sort of tactical genius. He waits far, far too long to make substitutions that are glaringly obvious in games. He has very little faith in our youth players, and has brought through pretty much nobody. Scott Wright has looked like a natural successor to Jonny Hayes when he has played this season, but is getting less and less game time whilst McInnes persists with shit like Mackay-Steven. He's got a massive boner for Kenny McLean, who has been completely fucking dreadful for all but six months of his time with us. Deila's Celtic was only a missed opportunity because McInnes created the opportunity. If we were still jobbing around the bottom of the table like the majority of the last couple of decades we'd still be complaining that they were unassailable. McInnes has just about taken us up to as high as we can get. Sure he's bottled big games, and we could have done better in cup competitions (Dundee Utd in 14/15 in particular looks a missed opportunity). Rangers the other day was a disaster, and I blame McInnes entirely. He's lucky that he's got another shot at it this weekend. He's surely got enough credit in the bank going forward to keep fans onside?! Basically, I [emoji173]️ McInnes. I don't want to go back to Stephen Hughes. I don't want to go back to Mark McGhee.
