Although given how dour and miserable a lot of our fan base is I'm not sure there's any realistic left sided centre back signings that would meet that. I think our fans will be happy if we sign a centre back who's a decent upgrade on who's here, but I'm struggling to imagine who we could possibly sign that would come under the heading "exciting". I've probably not seen him enough to comment, but I got left sided David Bates vibes off of him. You won't have watched Goodwin's interview with Hunter, but they both went out of their way to say Bates had to play on the left the whole season which was unfair on him.
