for anyone wanting  a gander.

Thanks for posting. Very impressed to be honest, speaks a good game so hopefully can be executed. I hate the questions about "being a winner", it's a empty phrase and gets banded about too much. He might as well release JET now as he is the polar opposite of what he wants in a player.

I agree, it’s a cliched term.

Half the time it’s levelled at people who’ve actually won nothing.

More generally, it’s a description usually aimed at players (or managers) who were aggressive & uncompromising on the pitch.

You seldom hear it to describe a “silky”, skilful player whose become a manager.

That aside, I thought it was a good interview.

Talk is cheap though.

What is clear is that he’ll make us harder to beat, & take no shite of anyone, then build from there.

Which is fine…. As long as we DO progress after achieving that initial goal.

I can understand the case for having McCrorie in midfield for now, and I think Goodwin might well see him there on a longer term basis, but I think if he were to go on to play at a higher level then it would probably be as a centre-back (most likely in a back three) unless he improves in possession.

McCrorie is the closest we've had to a replacement for Shinnie, needs a McLean type player alongside to get the best from him.

Aye, if we’re going to utilise McCrorie in midfield the we need a ball player in there. It cost Glass big time trying to play possession football without a playmaker.

I think Barron could play the creative role, but it's unfair to place that much rersponsibility on a young lad. The difficulty is getting a senior player in to be the playmaker without stifling Barron's development.
