paranoid android
You've absolutely no hope of signing Bain, unless you pay silly money. It's fine, mate - Steve Banks is the target now - and the lovely Mrs Banks, of course. Edited July 5, 2015 by paranoid android
Martin_T
You've absolutely no hope of signing Bain, unless you pay silly money. No rush, Bain will get his dream move in good time. Although it might be useful to get him in earlier to learn for a couple of seasons as understudy to Alexander.

Ludo*1
Why do people continue to fall for this pish trolling? For what it's worth, if Hearts were to ever be in the market for Bain after Alexander is moved into a coaching role, they'd be more than welcome to him but not for less than £1 million - which is cheap as chips really considering the potential he has.

I've absolutely no doubt Bain would love to sign for us. But we couldn't afford him, pretty simple.

You've just plucked that million figure completely out of thin air, haven't you? St Johnstone fans used to say the same about May. Are you due any development fee considering he was quite old when you signed him?
RandomGuy.
We did virtually get a million for May though. £800k plus a 20% sell on fee was the widely reported figure. Sure he was entering the last year of his contract too at the time. Edited July 5, 2015 by RandomGuy.
Deeboy
I'm certain Mr Nelms said once Bain signed his new, long term contract that if anyone wants Bain, then they'd be paying in excess of £1m.

No, John Nelms came out and said it when there was paper talk of Celtic sniffing around and once again after he signed his three year deal. Nice try though.
LincolnHearts
More than happy to be going into the season with Alexander and Hamilton as our two keepers. Out of interest though, how long is Bain contracted for? Edited July 5, 2015 by LincolnHearts -

Ludo*1
Did he, aye? Yes. You had a bit of a mare with that post in general eh? Not only being utterly wrong on where the figure came from but also embarrassingly getting it wrong with your St Johnstone analogy too.

Not really, the quotes I found from yer man didn't mention any figure(s) and St Johnstone didn't get a million for May, so pretty much spot on.

Always Hearts
Hearts will not pay money for a goalkeeper when they have 21 year-old Jack Hamilton as the number one in waiting, not just for club but also for Scotland. The guy has been capped at every age group for Scotland and just needs to get a year of first-team football under his belt to build up his reputation. It wouldn't surprise me if he is the Hearts no1 before the end of this season despite his age - he is that good.
