Linlithgow Rose 2014-15

If you'd have asked the Lithgae fans at the start of the season if they'd have accepted this season the way it's turned out none of them would have said yes, yet here we are with their season over and all of sudden it's not been to bad a season for them.

Bo'Ness fans are also spouting the same rubbish that it's been a successful season, how fickle the supporters of football are, with the budget both your clubs have, how any of you can say this season has been a success is beyond me

Until April the 18th we were in a position to win everything (easy to say the draws were kind that's the luck of the draw). Albeit our form had been scrappy for a good while leading up to then.

From then onwards we were playing Saturday - Monday - Wednesday then repeat the process for 6 weeks solid - winning more than we lost. But ultimately we failed to produce in to many games and end up with no silverware.

For our high standards we promised lots but produced nothing - so yes off course we are all disappointed in our season.

As for budget you will never see the Rose spend freely we spend within our means and our history has seen lots of players slip through our fingers as we won't be held to ransom.

The Darkside are claiming a good season based upon 3 victories over ourselves as success - but ultimately that is also a very shallow claim for a successful season.

But one thing is certain we will be back

All I wanted to know was his team.

Broader view? Useful? Nah.

What difference does it make? He watched Cumbernauld now having watched Whitburn, Linlithgow, Bo'ness and others. Like a lot of guys at this level, they watch games their boys are involved in. We get Tommy Coyne's dad along to Linlithgow - his team is Celtic but he'd still be able to comment on this level of football. If you want to carry on with obtuse nonsense that's fine but you're just threatening to make a wee bit of a cvnt of yourself. Hope this helps. :)

Its been one of the worse seasons we have had in recent years. OK , we made the semi of the Scottish and 3rd in the league but the entertainment value has been low. I struggle to think of a game where we dominated a game and ran out worthy winners against teams that are at the top half of the table.

Various reasons for our poor season, but the biggest factor is the players we signed last year have in some cases been bad signings, and in other cases not played to the same level here that they had at their previous clubs. On top of that our squad has been tired from day 1 after only a 4 week close season.

Hopefully we will start re-building with a solid defence, and a more balanced midfield as we have a lot of similar players in there

You go on about it being Danny's first season. Danny was assistant manager at Kilsyth beforew managing for 3 years at Camelon and won nothing. Alan McGonigle was manager at Camelon for less time than Danny and won two trophies. Danny left Camelon at a vital time in their season but that was okay because he went to Linlithgow. If it ever happens to you you will know what it's like. It's only Danny's legend status that is saving him from a lot of flak. Mark Bradley got shat on from a great height by players and committee alike. Tank has been shat on from a great height and it wouldn't surprise me if Danny gets it in the neck too. The Rose committee couldn't give a flying fvck what the fans think. At the end of the day you have been rotten all season. Camelon never won a big game when Danny was there and every time the Rose had to stand up and be counted this season they were posted missing.

The chants of "Smith must stay, Smith must stay...." at Newtown Park say it all. He is hopeless. Long may he reign at the wee Rose.

When the money goes - you will quickly be back to mediocrity.

It not all Dannys fault some may on decisions cant blame him for players for silly mistakes that have cause as cups.

Also to blame all these clubs who voted to have more teams in the league the players are suffering for it coming away from work to play a midweek just like camelon have to traveling to carnoustie in midweek. i hope its does go back to play to 12 one day.

They are quick to come on here slaughtering other clubs. Personally I think it is good for the game that Kelty Hill o Beath and Sauchie or Camelon are collecting the major honours in the East Region. It proves we are getting stronger as a region

Why has the fans not done anything about it ie Friends of linlithgow , supporters club

As a previous post stated. The committee don't give a flying f**k about the supporters or their views. They've shown themselves up big time with the Tank testimonial farce.

All us boys on the sidelines would love to see Tank getting the recognition he deserves but our thoughts on the matter would be dismissed rather quickly.

There is something stinking at the Rose just now.

Agree. What is the criteria for a testimonial usually?

When you have been there/seen it/done it then you are talking from a position of strength. The facts speak for themselves - happy to compare our clubs record to whoever you support

You are right about your record being second to none. I can't think of another club who wouldn't give a player a testimonial. After the committee sack Danny that will prove they have no sentiment towards club legends. Hill o Beath have stuck with Jock Finlayson for years and years and they are still winning trophies. Maybe other clubs could learn from that.
