Team effort lads, Stef, Stevie, Big Andy and a big mention to Greg who has the guys really fit.

The gaffer Tam Courts deserves enormous credit but knowing him he will feel we ain't done nothing yet and rightly so.

He worked his ass off last season to keep us up playing and managing then again pre season to get players in he wanted who we're watched numerous times, the players brought in have the attitude, desire and ability to succeed and it's paid dividends ends so far.

As a player Tam could be man of the match every week and as a leader and manager he has done superb to blend a squad who can compete this season.

Well done to the players too who have bought into everything the coaching staff are trying to do and they must be a happy bunch just now.

Hopefully we can keep it up but as the old saying goes we will take each game as it comes.

Cheers No 4.

The boys dealt with HOB well today, at 2-0 they were in control until Nelly McCabe was given a straight red (on assistant refs info) for what looked like a HOB player landing on top of him & Nelly pushing him off?

If anyone was nearer the incident maybe they could enlighten us? as the player looked as astounded as the Kelty support.

Game was a bit tighter afterwards with the Haws scoring late on to make it 2-1.

We are an honest side, 8MileBU.

Every match has been competitive to date, no doubt fixtures to come, although setting different challenges, will prove to be the same.

As long as we are given a fair crack at the whip there wont be any complaints this end.

How's Shaun Greig and Cargill playing?

Both been superb, Shaun has settled in great and was a player we badly needed in the middle of the park and Cargi is the best Super League striker just now an unbelievable 10 goals in 5 games.

Both work hard for the team and deserve everything they get.

More or less STL.

Allison

Duffin - T Courts - O`Neil - Leighton

Ritchie - Greig - McCabe - C Courts

Lawrie - Cargill

Subs used - O`Reilly - Morrison - Shields

Heard Gary Greenhill is away for 5 weeks was missing yesterday - Brian Ritchie was taken of with a nose injury not sure how bad?

Nelly McCabe given straight red so that gives someone a chance to impress for the next couple of matches at least, though they will need to be (at it) as Nelly covers some ground in a match.

Stevie Manson, not played a minute of the league campaign thus far, though to be fair to the management team it appears they are trying to run the team on old fashioned principles.

I.E. players not being picked to play in the first (11) will need to wait until an opportunity arises for the correct reasons before they get a chance to impress.

Mark Forbes may be asked to step in at some point in this regard, Mark has a good engine though parts of his game require attention, you have to like the lad though as he is a 100% team player.

Kelty Hearts 3-0 Downfield

Kelty were missing a few today but still had enough about them to see off a plucky Downfield side.

Mark Forbes stepped in for Shaun Greig with Roger Duffin switching to sweeper in place of Shaun O`Neil, Kelty were also missing Gary Greenhill.

It was plain to see from the off that the match was not going to be played at Superleague pace with the Kelty players enjoying plenty of time on the ball, something that is never awarded in the top flight no matter who you are playing.

That said Downfield proved fairly difficult to break down as Kelty appeared to be a tad deliberate at times in their build up play.

Kelty did manage to find a way through late in the first half when the prolific Stuart Cargill headed in from close range.

This was the spark Kelty needed as a few minutes later Brian Ritchie made it 2-0 with a lovely placed header after some sterling work from Nelly McCabe on the wing, HT 2-0.

The 2nd half was played at much the same pace as the first with Downfield rarely able to provide any tangible threat to the Kelty defence which has proved difficult to breach so far this season.

There were not many clear cut chances to be had at either end in the 2nd half to be fair until Stuart Cargill pounced on a loose ball in the box with a minute or so to go to make it 3-0 with a sublime finish.

That`s 6 games in a row wee Cargs has managed to bag a brace, an enviable record for any striker, playing out of his skin so he is.

Was good to see Stevie Manson get 20 mins or so & Mark Forbes putting in a solid performance, admirable indeed for a player who has not seen first team action so far this season.

Well done team Kelty.

He was impressive last season both games vs Bo'ness, the game at Newtown Park in particular. Good to see him getting the goals his overall play deserves. 12 goals in six games is excellent at any level.

Thing is Scuzz, he could have had a hat trick last week against HOB where he hit the post from a shot around the 18 yard box after beating 2 players & again today where he left a couple of defenders for dead in the first half & hit a curling shot which again hit the woodwork.

You could see early doors he was bright in our pre - season friendlies & he has carried that on.

We have others who know where the back of the net is this season also & who can play in a variety of positions from midfield to front, so the management team have options at the moment.

Kelty Hearts 6 Lochee Utd 1

Starting line up:

Allison

Morrison - T Courts - Duffin - Leighton

McCabe - Forbes - Ritchie - C Courts

O` Reilly - Cargill

Subs Used:

Lawrie - Greig - Manson

Missing:

O`Neil - Greenhill

As stated earlier in the thread Stuart Cargill has been in excellent form this season, he continued in the same vein today scoring 4 goals, hitting the bar, then had another fine effort cleared off the line by a Lochee Utd defender.

Some shift for a player who was taken off with around 25 mins to go.

We started brightly & were already 3-0 up when we lost Craig O`Reilly to a straight red with around ten minutes to go in the first half, it appeared that a Lochee Utd defender raised his hands with Craig reacting without thinking.

Pity, as he had just had a brilliant first time volley well saved by the Lochee Utd keeper & was coming on to a very good game at the time.

Down to ten men then & leading 3-0 through a Carg`s hat trick at half time.

Not long after the break Carg`s broke clear of the Lochee Utd defence & slotted home his & Kelty`s 4th with another tidy finish which the teams overall play deserved.

Lochee Utd scored a beauty of a goal a few minutes later which was well worked down the left flank by their wee number 11 who sent in a terrific cross for the striker to bullet home a header from close range 4-1.

Carg`s was given a well deserved rest being replaced by Scott Lawrie with almost 25 mins to go, Scott brings an element of unpredictable guile to the front line & can finish when he gets a sight of goal, he linked the play up admirably at times today & showed good technique.

Kelty then brought on Captain Shaun Greig with 20 mins to go for the industrious Mark Forbes who had another good game today, hardly put a foot wrong in fact, apart from a cheap booking.

It was `nt long before Shaun found himself on the score sheet after a determined run he forced himself into the box between two Lochee Defenders to finish high into the net 5-1.

Lochee to their credit, were still trying to make a match of it without overly troubling the strong Kelty Hearts defence.

Lochee were best served by the previously mentioned number 11 & the pacey - talented number 12 on the right side of midfield.

With ten minutes to go Stevie Manson was given another taste of first team action brought on to replace the tireless Nelly McCabe who again put in an excellent display for the team.

Stevie did`nt take long to make his mark in the match either with a clinical finish after a ghosting run through the Lochee Utd defence.

A really good team performance from all the lads today & coaching staff alike, considering we played almost 50 min with 10 men.

Well done team Kelty.

Good assesment, Stuart Cargill has amazingly beat last years tally already, Iv never seen a scoring run like it especially in the Super League in which every game is keenly contested.

We are scoring goals with confidence high but big big praise must go for our defensive displays since the start of the season, the gaffer Tam Courts is leading from the front with his top performances and his teammates at the back and goalkeeper Kyle Allison who had a couple of great saves today have been dominant, organised and have showed 100% concentration thus far, this gives us a solid base for the rest of the team to attack.

Also great to see wee Manse get his 1st goal for the club.
