Scotland Tickets

Remember when the playoff tickets went on sale. The ordinary fan was told through the media that 19000 tickets would go on sale on Saturday, November 1st 2003. Aye Right!

From SFA Website...

The ticket breakdown is as follows, from an available capacity of 51,650 seats:

Scotland Travel Club: 23,000

Public sale: 12,700 (8,830 Safeway, 1,970 Tickets Scotland, 1,900 Hampden Park)

Dutch support: 5,400

Organised youth groups: 1,000

Debenture and hospitality seats: 6,300

Football family, inc clubs, associations and media: 2,750

Segregation barrier: 500.

Seems to me that the SFA have misled the fans big time about this. I'm sure there was a number pf people would not have ququed if they knewe how few tickets were going on sale.

(You'll probabbbly have guessed that I queued and didn't get a ticket.)

I knew it was around about 12K before I queued...

I didn't, but I would still have queued if I knew. I'm just saying that some people might not have.

There would be as big a problem if we had a proper sized stadium (e.g. the Millenium Stadium was built for much less than Hampden, and is much bigger).

That's true, as the 20,000 or so people that didn't get tickets would have had a chance at least. Although Holland would have got a larger allocation if we had a bigger stadium - at least 7,000 for a 70,000 seater stadium.

Just to show my source...

Daily Record - October 14th, 2003

TICKETS to the Scotland clash with Holland will be the hottest ticket in the country.

But there are only 19,000 of them available to punters.
