Jealous. You are going to have such fun.

Keep the house tidy by becoming a barfly.

Unfortunately I'm nightshift until Friday morning but after that I don't plan on leaving the pub until Sunday night apart from nipping to Starks for a few hours.

When i I think about it like that I should've done this sooner.

An acquaintance of mine is being left alone in his girlfriends flat for 3 months while she travels. He has no interest in going with her, he isn't a big drinker and certainly no party animal and will just sit there watching tv and going slowly insane, I'm actually quite worried for his welfare.

If it was me alone for 3 months my girlfriend would insist on hiring a baby sitter to stop me from choking on my own vomit every night, my life would be at serious danger.

Well this is it, first time in 26 years I've ever had to live on my own (well I have the dog to keep me sane) she went of to Marbella at 6am this morning which made me realise I've never lived on my own for anymore than a few days at a time, this probably won't end well and I'll be a stone heavier and the house will be ruined by Friday. Wish me luck.

I had a wife once that went to Marbella with friends. Turned out there was another "friend" that went also that i knew nothing about at the time....:unsure2:

If you were left on your own for three months, this would be you after about a fortnight - http://stv.tv/news/east-central/1363218-camper-crushed-to-death-by-falling-tree-was-homeless-man/

I always thought that the type of man portrayed in many adverts (i.e. an imbecile who can't do the most basic of things and relies of his wife for nearly everything and is 'rewarded' with beer and 'footy') existed.

It seems that there are many such fools going by the above post.

To be fair we all knew about throbber, but some of the others are (mildly) surprising.

Well to say I'm an imbecile who can't do anything for myself is completely inaccurate if you had read my posts correctly - I do most the housework and make dinner almost every night I just have a problem when the Mrs goes away for the weekend and I drink myself silly and go insane. It is a genuine problem I have and I would appreciate it if you treated the situation more delicately than calling me an imbecile that can't do anything round the house.

I'm not an alc - I just go insane when left alone and drink very quickly. Usually when having wine in polite company I drink at the same rate as everyone else but when I'm on my own I could drink a massive glass in about 3 gulps as there is no body around to tell me not to do it. It's a psychological problem rather than alcoholism and I can go long spells without even wanting beer or wine through the week.

That's not really what my stance is I don't go particularly crazy on social events and stag parties and large groups of guys getting fucked up completely isn't my scene. I just love to drink and would do it every day if i could, don't really take it to extremes and even when I'm on my own the amount of alcohol I consume isn't ridiculous I just drink really quickly and don't know what to do as there is no one around to tell me to stop so it's a head f**k. If I had to live alone I would probably be able to pull myself together eventually though.
