Mr Bairn
UKIP 200/1 on to win the seat tonight. First time they'll have had an MP since Bob Spink. Wonder how long it will be before the NCC hijack it and claim a UKIP government is coming.

SodjesSixteenIncher
I would never predict a UKIP government but aye, tomorrow will be correctly another reason to feel good about being a Yes voter and probably an awkies moment for any No voter who considers themself progressive. This is what you've voted for cuntos. Fucking UKIP MP

Wonder how long it will be before the NCC hijack it and claim a UKIP government is coming. Good grief, it was 25/1 on at the start of the campaign! Gotta hand it to the Tories, that "Clacton Underground" leaflet in the first week of the campaign all but handed the seat to UKIP on a plate. ~~~
Sake, they haven't even started counting. already predicting a UKIP landslide win. The BBC really do love UKIP, they won't shut up about them, even in the Heywood by-election which they're predicting Labour will win
AberdeenBud
I like how the entirety of UKIP's malign and xenophobic influence is somehow negated because they'll only have a couple of MP's. An absolutely vile political party and an embarrassment to the UK.
vikingTON
Absolutely abysmal, 51% and 30something% predicted turnouts; clearly the huff and puff of Westminster politics is more important to voters than unnecessary diversions like an independence referendum. Kejan
My fav bit had to be the Labour winner with her pre-planned obviously expecting thousand odd majority speech saying her vote was a ringing endorsement for Ed Milliband. They won by 600 odd votes.
Frankie S
Utterly depressing watching tonight's byelection coverage from down South. Is this dumbed-down dystopia merely a figment of Jeremy Clarkson's imagination? Blazered-buffoon Farage comes out with some more hateful claptrap that would shame a Daily Mail headline writer (close our borders to AIDS-infected immigrants) and, rather than inspire universal revulsion, we can only presume that it strikes a chord with the electorate. If we didn't suspect it before, it seems that we've just voted to remain tethered to a country lurching towards idiocy.
