Yeah, it's good, but unfortunately it seems to have become one of those bits of consensus TV that a lot of people have convinced each other was one of the best shows ever made.

It's probably not, but it is worth watching.

Or maybe if you don't get put off by how much other people like or dislike something and judge it objectively, it genuinely is fucking brilliant and probably one of the best TV shows of all time?

Bitch.

Yeah, I'm the one who knocks Breaking Bad.

If you actually read the post though, I said it was a good show and worth watching - I'm just not as sold on it as a lot of people seem to be.

That might be due to watching all five seasons in a marathon over last Christmas and New Year thanks to the missus though. Some episodes were truly gripping from start to finish, but I found a lot of the Jesse-centric ones fairly dull.

I actually did the same with the last two series because there was a big Breaking Bad night at mine where a load of us were going to watch the last three episodes and I was miles behind. I massively regret that.

Maybe I'm not in the best position to judge as I haven't made my way through most of the "classic" shows people talk about, but it was a remarkable show IMO. Even the first couple of series which felt reasonably slow whilst watching them became fascinating to look back on when you know what you know about some of the characters.

Maybe i'm just one of those people that was too thick to "get it", but i found seasons 1 and 2 of the wire tediously boring at times. 3 & 4 were class though. Breaking Bad was brilliant from the beginning though and only got better with time unlike most long running shows(Dexter )

I enjoyed the first series a lot, but the second got me hooked. Some of those episodes are very special. My only big complaint is the weak link in the cast, Anna Gunn, who isn't up to her challenging role. It doesn't help that her character is called Skyler, which is a minging name.
