Confidemus
http://wingsoverscotland.com/scottish-labour-by-numbers/#more-62312 Scottish Labour by numbers This is how many Scottish Labour M/SPs turn out to save their own cushy jobs: And this is how many turned out today to campaign for a living wage for workers. We’ll leave it at that.

Clarkston5
Confi, it's interesting you're criticising Labour for having a low turnout of campaigners but at least they are actually in favour of it. You said absolutely nothing when the Scottish National Party teamed up with the Scottish Conservatives to vote against the abolishment of zero hour contracts. You were also silent when most Scottish National Party members of parliament never even bothered turning up to vote against the Affordable Homes Bill. At least Labour are actually trying to help ease the financial woes of low paid workers/people on benefits. Try and have a bit of balance. It's not a surprise that the SNP turned all their BS on so that they could court leftie c**ts like Tommy Sheridan to gain more votes but the kick in the teeth for them will be that they'll lose their centre and right wing votes. Guarantee that those attendees at their demos are all a mix of Marxist radical pr**ks and associated feckless schemie scum
ForzaDundee
I'd have to disagree that the Scottish National Party favours left wing voters. Voting against the abolishment of zero hour contracts and most of their members of parliament failing to vote against the Affordable Homes Bill for example is not something which will keep the left wing voters on side. If anything, they favour right wing voters. And Nationalism is definitely not left wing either. I'm sure there's a few out there... but I've never spoken to a Scottish National Party supporter who, after listening to their opinions, considered them to be left wing. Especially when they start ranting about my country. I think "left wing?", you must be having a laugh. I'm left-wing and I support the SNP so there you go. thepundit
I'm left-wing and I support the SNP so there you go. No. You've just been conditioned to think you're left wing. In my opinion, of course.
pandarilla
Christ there are some right numpties posting on this thread. Feckless schemies attending demonstrations? Scottish nationalism being labelled right wing? Scottish Labour are just waiting to die. They can't get rid of wee whit's her face until she is humiliated at next year's election, which she will be. A sitting duck. I reckon Jim Murphy will then ride in to save the day. It'll take some job to win back the supporters that have woken up to their antics. Anyone on the left with any wits about them will not trust the Labour Party again (unless they do something incredibly radical - but that's not likely given the current set-up). ForzaDundee
No. You've just been conditioned to think you're left wing. In my opinion, of course. I'd say I'm a libertarian socialist. So is that left-wing in your opinion?

thepundit
I'd say I'm a libertarian socialist. So is that left-wing in your opinion? I'd say you weren't, if you do indeed support the Scottish National Party. You seem confused. Politically naive, perhaps. I wrote to my MP Mr Hosie just after the vote asking why he didn't vote. 4 weeks later and still no response. Opportunist shitebags - just like the Labour Party - or any political party. I'm sure I read excuses from a few of them regarding delayed trains or buses or whatever. I happen to have my own theory, and I reckon many will agree with it. I think they never bothered because the Affordable Homes Bill was an argument for independence. (this was before the referendum) Why would they vote to strengthen support for the United Kingdom?..... So, despite the politicians being there on the Wednesday to antagonise Unionists by waving Yes placards, all of a sudden they couldn't make it there on the Friday? Maybe their excuses were true, but I'm having trouble believing them. As for them teaming up with the Scottish Conservatives to vote in favour of zero hour contracts, well, how very left wing of them eh?... Didn't the Scottish National Party take £1bn away from an anti-poverty programme? Left wing? What's left wing about intimidation of people who speak out against you? And, of course, Nationalism. Someone tell me what's left wing about Nationalism?...
ForzaDundee
what vote is this then? On Monday the British House of Commons voted 274 to 12 to recommend that the UK recognise Palestine as a state alongside Israel.

I like the idea of more decentralised structures of political government and believe that a society based on freedom and equality can be achieved through abolishing authoritarian institutions that control means of production and subordinate the majority to an ruling political class and economic elite.
