CityDave
Whaur's the East Coast storm? Has it Hibsed itself? Looks like it came in over land somewhere south of Aberdeen and petered out near Inverurie. Noticed that Buchan seems to have a storm shield, that's three storms headed that way that have given up before reaching there. Western Isles just now seeing a lot of lightning strikes, the rest of us getting the regular summer thunderstorms that push through quickly. Expecting the real stuff to kick off this evening.

Shandon Par
I was just out buying some paint and felt a few spots of rain. It's sunny again now and not a Munchkin to be seen.
CityDave
That East coast storm has flared up again in the Ellon area producing lightning, seemed happy enough to sit there for a while. Can't see the Isle of Lewis for crosses representing the lightning strikes. Seen a fair share of both orange people and red people up here in the 'sneck' over the last few days. No one bothers anymore with sun protection.

CityDave
Scotland does seem to be besting England for storms today. Apart from that large one that tracked north from Derbyshire and reached Newcastle an hour ago, all they have had is a regular storm that crossed Cornwall and is now over South Wales and the Bristol Channel. The greedy south coasters are trying to will a small storm onto land from the channel south of Eastbourne. Its heading north east towards Callais, so nay luck. Go Scotland!!

CityDave
Very few storms over land now. Still very humid. One storm heading north towards Wick. Central Scotland getting rained on but no lightning showing up. One strike showing up near Brechin.
CityDave
Quietening off now, so much for the real stuff kicking off this evening , can't complain,.... the north of Scotland doesn't see a lot of thundery weather even more so being the busiest area in the UK. Storms were popping almost totally random anywhere near high ground. Reading the storms thread on net weather just now and just as in football expectation levels don't match reality, a lot of moaning and toys out of the pram from some. I wonder how many phoned the met office to complain?. Forecast predicts the line of thundery showers moving north through Wales will move through the Irish sea and reach land at Dumfries and Galloway during the night and later exit north east Scotland. Not a bad day, saw plenty of lightning and heard some loud thunder. Hope for similar tomorrow.
CityDave
5cm hailstones. This could have been your swimming pool in Leith being hit with 5cm hail, if you had one. This could have been you today, you were that close. Edinburgh wasn't that far from that big storm that hit Newcastle.
Zen Archer (Raconteur)
Where's the fucking tornados, Dave? I want a tornado.
CityDave
Where's the fucking tornados, Dave? I want a tornado. I'm disappoint. Looks like the only tornados in Scotland today were the ones based in Lossiemouth. No reports of anything resembling a funnel cloud either or any rotation anywhere not even from that beast that rampaged through Yorkshire and flooded Newcastle. How would you have cooked your trouser leg if Dundee had been hit with a twister?.
CityDave
Thunderstorm moving north currently above the Irish Sea should hit land between Kirkcudbright and the Solway Estuary.

MuckleMoo
Find all this stuff pretty fascinating. Was in Dundee for most of the day and if it's possible to have beige weather Dundee had it. It was just grey and overcast. Fancy going on one of those storm chasing tours in America.
