Yet another fantasist 'look at me' type constantly given airtime for no apparent reason.

Wot he says, Brand has an inflated view of his own 'importance' that the BBC have given some sort of credibility to by putting the arse on air. If he wants to sell his book then fair enough but I don't think the Beeb should be giving him a platform. He should stick to comedy films (that others have written the scripts for). He's a well meaning dick but a dick none the less.

Looking at what he actually said, he didn't really say much wrong for me:

“I think it is interesting at this time when we have so little trust in our political figures, where ordinary people have so little trust in their media, we have to remain open-minded to any kind of possibility,”

“Do you trust the American government? Do you trust the British government? What I do think is very interesting is the relationship that the Bush family have had for a long time with the Bin Laden family.

“What I do think is very interesting is the way that even the BBC report the events in Ottawa to subtly build an anti-Islamic narrative. I think that’s very interesting.”

And, as stated, he pumped Katy Perry. Fair play to him.

I don't mind Brand and I agree with a lot of what he says but on the other hand he does come out with a hell of a lot of hyperbolic nonsense.

Saying that the BBC reports on Ottawa have an anti-islamic message is ridiculous unless mentioning the fact the perpetrator was a Muslim is anti-islam.

Sometimes super lefties have to accept that the news is just the news and not some secret agenda to smear 'the enemy'. It's very simple, if these things didn't happen then they wouldn't be reported.

Pretty hard to do an interview with a coked up loon grabbing both your thighs and practically shoving his cock in your face. And spluttering meaningless shite.

Just indulge him and let him make a fool of himself, Davis tried to challenge him and was brought down to his level.

I generally think Brand is a top, top guy and very astute on politics, but even I was riled by him in that interview.

One thing I've noticed with previous Russell Brand interviews on political matters is that people have been pretty rude to him on numerous occasions because they can't dish a clamping on him, but in this interview it's him that's being rude as f**k. Constantly shouting over Davis, clapping at him and saying "sharpen up you're in big shoes ", saying "you could've said that in five seconds without the daft graph", even the way he sits there with his feet on the table on a news programme, doesn't look good.

There's no doubt that Evan Davis is woefully out of his depth and the last person you'd want interviewing Russell Brand, but if that interview was the first time I'd seen Russell Brand I'd probably think he's a total c**t.

Agree with all of this bit that's why he done it. Because he could take advantage of Davis. His interview with Paxman, he was much more respectful and managed to make a decent point or two. Paxman gave him the rope to hang himself with, but he flukes out. In contrast, he just took advantage of Davis.

I used to hate Brand until i saw his stuff on Scottish independence then realised he was actually quite a good guy. I find him pretty annoying at face value but he speaks a lot of sense and is quite funny at times.

Don't believe 9/11 was an inside job though after years of deliberation
