capt_oats
Just watched his first interview and was actually quite impressed. He's positive and enthusiastic, as you'd expect, however given the recent malaise at our club that could be just what we need. He seems ambitious, wants to play entertaining football, talks up organization, work ethic and that he likes to give youth players a chance. All things sadly lacking from us this season. Only time will tell if he can deliver but I feel relatively better and a little more confident having watched that first interview. Agreed, he definitely says all the right things in that interview. Pleased to hear him talking about youth development and giving them a shot if they're good enough. Definite echoes of Gannon there but in saying that I thought Gannon did a lot of good things until he went mental. Given some of the names that had been flying around; Sheils, Adams, Solano et al I'm happy enough to give a guy with a bit of ambition who wants to play attacking, positive football a chance. Also, relieved that the club have avoided bottling it and bringing one of the usual faces that are touted for jobs in Scottish football.

TheLip69
How would you know? Why are you so negative? I don't see the negativity in that comment. I'd rather see us live within our means, than break the bank for the likes of Butcher. I don't think the severity of our financial situation has been appreciated by a lot of our fans. The fact is we needed confirmation of funding before we could employ anyone. I am hopeful Baraclough will be a success, of those quoted it was him or Van der Gaag for me. So I am happy with the appointment.

Jim McLean's Ghost
I know it is all backpage headlines but saying that we can win the league is absolutely deluded. Shows a lack of understanding of the circumstances of the club and wider Scottish football.

H Wragg
What do you want him to say?"Tbh we're a bit shit"?I think going on about winning the league is over-egging things a bit, no?I'd be thinking the same if a new Thistle manager came out with that. Jim McLean's Ghost
What do you want him to say?"Tbh we're a bit shit"? That we will try our hardest to win every match but winning the league is not a realistic goal for club.

capt_oats
That we will try our hardest to win every match but winning the league is not a realistic goal for club.why shouldn't winning the league be a goal for the club, realistic or otherwise? every club in the division should at least aspire to winning the league otherwise what's the actual point? might as well just save everyone some money and hand it over to Celtic without kicking a ball.
