oddly optomistic
Riddoch either saved the SNP boy's arse, or didn't allow him to come out of his shell. Massie talked the most sense about the elective suicide issue but I doubt most viewers will get the point he was making. Was he saying not to legalise it but not to prosecute either. If so, I would have thought that could leave some people vulnerable. Surely there is more chance of something sinister occurring if prosecutions are not likely and no safeguards are put in place. (I am not suggesting any widespread issues there are always exceptions with people putting self interest above the patient.)
lichtgilphead
QT is the whole of our one nation, so the rest don't wasn't to hear about Scottish, as they see it, ' local' issues You consider a UK minister abusing his position to tell lies in an attempt to influence a UK General Election to be a 'local' issue?

I wasn't on about Carmichael, but replying to Sparky 88 comment. Carmichael should've been on ever news bulletin countrywide as its a ministerial matter

Fotbawmad
It's been possibly the worst QT I've seen. Take it you haven't seen that episode with Farage and Brand?
I'm Brian
Could they not find a Labour MP to take part? Pretty balanced panel IMO. Both Riddoch and Massie have nailed their colours to the mast, but both are usually pretty objective. The other three will argue along their party lines. Carmichael, EU Referendum, SNP Bad to be topics of the first three questions Other than a sneaky wee footy question HOUSE!
Colkitto
So who is going to be the first person to find a photo of the baldy guy on QT holding a No board during the indyref?
BerwickMad
I expected the SNP guy to be far better considering his background, but he collapsed up there. Falconer gave the perfect example of the deluded Labour section in the party that just don't get it, and Ruth Davidson came across OK, but it's all a bit stale from here now and repetitive.
Fide
That baldy guy. If he voted yes, I'm the Archbishop of Kwazulu-Natal. WHY DO THE ESSENNPEE GO ON ABOUT INDEPENDENCE? REFERENDUM REFERENDUM REFERENDUM!

WullieBroonIsGod
Take it you haven't seen that episode with Farage and Brand? haha No I watch it every week. I just thought the level of "debate" last night was embarrassing. The only saving grace was the assisted dying question at the end, but then that's a free vote if you like and the party politics don't really come in to play. The producers made an arse of it. The Carmichael question was hastily rushed over and the audience got no input. The Fifa question was awful as it was obvious the panel had no clue where to begin discussing. The ESS ENN PEE BAD at the start was woeful and Nicholson made a bit of an arse of himself. Expected much better from him. Far too much time was spent on squabbling and Dimbleby should have had a tighter hold of the reigns Riddoch was the only panel member who was halfway decent. Ruthy did what Ruthy does and tries to be a friendly tory, but it's stale beyond imagination now. Falconer was ok, just Nicholson was almost a pantomime character Massie was a fucking zoomer Baldy seething "yes voter" is still waiting on his blood pressure to drop - pleasing!

The bit in bold isn't true, I got my say! Agree that the rest of it was pretty shite. During the warmup when there are members of the audience in the seats was much more entertaining than the real thing. ETA: The filming ran over for about 6-7mins. You should be glad that they had to cut some.... Edited May 29, 2015 by strichener

strichener
When did he eventually stop trembling with rage? At a guess, probably 2046 around March time would be my guess. It will be a heart attack that will finally shut him down.

Crùbag
Just watched QT, that bald yes voter Did anyone catch This week? I think Alex Salmond was on. Same here. Yon seething baldy was no way a Yes/SNP voter. Everything he said was factually incorrect. Riddoch and John Nicholson were very good. Riddoch goes down well with audiences as she's not party drone and she's from a pretty ordinary background. Massie speaks well but comes across a bit snooty and a bit self-obsessed - a bit like the posh boarding school product that he is. He even dresses like an auld fart. Lord Falconer was just an embarrassment. He really doesn't get it. A socialist Lord FFS.... another gravy-train careerist. The lassie in the audience was right about the House of Commons - it's backward, out of touch and out of date. Corrupt as well. The sooner we stop allowing it to rule/overrule us, the better.
