Pars v Binos

Same shit, different week I'm afraid.

I'm still of the belief that a group of players don't just become awful overnight. This is a team that finished 12 points clear in second place last season. We cherry-pIcked three of the best players of last season and added them to our pool. Whilst I didn't think we'd walk away with the title, if you'd told me we'd be sitting in seventh place in mid-March I'd have laughed in your face.

Alas, it is us as a club that are now the laughing stock. There has to be something, maybe a few things that are fundamentally wrong within the club at present for us to find ourselves in this position. We have a full-time squad, the biggest squad, the highest wage bill, the highest budget, the largest fan base and subsequently we as fans have high, yet realistic expectations, to win a league full of part time players at clubs with average gates of 400-800.

All of the above is absolutely no use whatsoever if you have a manager who is tactically out of his depth. The players lacklustre approach, lack of ideas and self belief and general negativity in their football is clear to see and something that has been displayed throughout the majority of the season and obviously leads to the position we currently find ourselves in.

The season is over. It's been nothing short of disastrous. It's really painful to watch the pars at the moment and it's so easy to get on the players backs and rant at them and throw your scarf on the park but this is when the club needs us most. I've heard and seen people say they won't be back this season or until Potter is sacked. It's not cheap to watch the pars these days but what I will say is this is when the club needs the supporters to rally round the most. It's all very well turning up when we're challenging for leagues and on fairytale cup runs but, truth is, we almost lost 130 years of history just over a year ago. The fans and people of west Fife rallied together to save this great club. We now need to rally round yet again to keep supporting this great club, to help us get out of the most competitive league in Scotland and ensure our kids and grandkids have a pars team to be proud of in the coming years. It may take one, two or ten seasons to get where we want to again but we can do this folks.

Keep the faith, onwards and upwards for a fresh start next season.

I'm still surprised we consistently break the 2000 attendance mark every week. The fans are rallyng enough as it is whilst being served shite on a plate every Saturday.

I don't know what more DA fans can do to what they are doing just now to "rally round the team."

It's not a case of doing anything more, it's ensuring the fans keep turning out. It is a two-way street though and performances need to improve but what worries me is that attendances plummet in the last few games and this continues into the new season. People stop going for a few weeks, find other things to do that they find equally as enjoyable and then have no motivation or reason to go back to the football any time soon.

We are down to the hardcore regulars right now and cannot afford numbers to drop further.

Didnt expect the players to throw in the towel so easily, where do they think they will end up after this?

We did a lot better with similar baffling formations under JJ. The players just either don't respect Potter or don't want to try.

No point continuing with him as they've stopped.

Couldn't care less if none of them was here next season. After what the fans went through and what we did for the club the last thing I expected was for the players to chuck it.

Really quite angry about it tbh.

2300 at this game. What is wrong with these people? Surely you must have something, anything, better to do with your time/money?

I brought a Stoke City supporter along for his first ever Pars game. Even though he got in for free, as there was a spare season ticket available for the day, I still felt the need to apologise to him for bringing him along. I would have been mortified if he had to pay £15 to watch the football on display.

Even though I have my season ticket I now don't feel the need to travel back to Dunfermline from Glasgow anymore, it's not worth almost three hour round trip on the bus for the entertainment on display. The first half debacle was one of the most gutless performances I've witnessed from a Pars team in over twenty years of watching them. That's not being melodramatic either, it really was horrific.

I stopped going weeks ago. It was the away game at Stirling that was the last straw for me. Weather was horrendous but it was so much worse on the pitch. I'm going to make the trips to Peterhead and Brechin to get them off the list but that's it for me this season. I still care but not enough to spend money and time on this group of players.

Well, if you put it like that, then yeah I do have plenty better things to do with my time/money. But I choose to go follow my team, through thick & thin. You got a fuckin problem with that? :P
