Flip side of the Worst Hotels Thread.

Sensatori Egypt - Been a couple of times now and love it. Service is superb, rooms well designed and new, restaurants are really good also. Nice views from the main bar over the sea also. Probably my favourite "holiday" hotel that I've stayed in.

Leela Palace Bangalore - The place is superb and they also do a fantastic Sunday Brunch. Food is superb!

Shang-Ra-La Delhi - Was really impressed with the overall package in the hotel. Spotlessly clean with a cracking back on the 19th floor with views over the city. Probably not the most modern hotel but for Delhi it was really good!

Struggling to think of too many in the UK. When working in Birmingham I used to stay in Mint in Brindleyplace which was decent but think it's now a Hilton. Crowne Plaza is generally my selection these days but is ok. The breakfast isn't wonderful.

I've stayed in a few five star hotels over the years and not one of them has been value for money, except perhaps the one in Cairo, the name of which I forget. Two of the best, due to the service and quality, is Peradays in Istanbul and Galleria Park in San Francisco. Neither is a five star hotel, but both of them should be.

Value for money, the best value hotel I've stayed at was the Grand Hotel Francais in Paris.

Lovely breakfasts and in a very good area, a little further out but you need to ride the Metro to get anywhere in Paris. The concierge was extremely helpful and gave us top tips on where to go for dinner and what was worth visiting.

In no particular order,

The Fitzwilliam in Belfast,

The Langham in London,

The Montien in Bangkok.

Different scale but in Scotland I also liked Colessio in Stirling, Bauhaus in Aberdeen is very simple but pretty cool with each floor being a different colour, and I like Norton House in Edinburgh.

Sensatori Jamaica

Meedhuparu in the Maldives

Rui Bachata in the Dominican Republic

I'd recommend any of these

I've stayed in the other Rui one attached to the Bachata. It was ok.

Currently staying in Leela in Mumbai. It is quite close to the airport. Doesn't look much from the outside but once you step inside it changes. Got a 5* feel and the service is outstanding.

Not the best hotel I have stayed in, but I spent 4 days in the Radisson Blu in Split last year and it was outstanding. I expected it to be relatively good but it was well above that.

Taj Lands End in Mumbai was super circa 2006. Also the Leela Palace Bangalore around that time. Happy days.

Leela Palace do a cracking Sunday brunch! Food is fantastic!
