Berwick retained list

Recommended Posts

No OK, the season is not over, but I actually wish it was. Most frustrating ever. So who would you keep? I would get rid of anyone who scores 5 or less.

BALD 6

Decent enough, but nowhere near as good as keepers we've had in the past. Supposedly leaving anyway.

ANDREWS 5

Doesn't command his box. Not really good enough.

JACOBS 6

Works hard, but prone to some serious Cock-ups

YOUNG 6.5

Has tailed right off, but did very well for big chunk of season

TULLOCH 5

Always injured

FAIRBAIRN 7

Solid for most of season

DRUMMOND 6

Another who lost form lately.

MAXWELL 4

2 decent games but largely shite

NOTMAN 8

Player of season

CURRIE 4.5

Consistently not quite good enough

WILLIS 6

Good pushing forward, but for me one of the reasons our defence can get outnumbered

CAMERON 5

Hang the boots up mate

GRAY 5.5

One dimensional. Been sussed.

GOLD 6

Still improving.

RUSSELL 3.5

Inadequate

HENDERSON 5.5

Scored a few, but hardly frightens opposition defences

LAVERY 5.5

Time to go for me.

Others didn't play enough games, and some I'd bin may already be signed, and Wilkie isn't ours.

So for me, it's Jacobs Young Fairbairn Notman Drummond Gold and Willis. And 13 new signings.

And Cameron I suppose, though not sure his new contract included playing.

Hard to believe Berwick are second bottom and yet could still make play offs! No one seems to want that 4th spot. Three wins in next three games are not beyond reason but sadly Berwick have not won three in row this season? Hopefully the club can seriously invest in fresh talent next season even if it means a transfer fee or wages push?Sometimes frees are just not the answer.

Frees are the answer ........ at the beginning of the season so we can look to buy in the new year window !! Not in the last quarter of the season when we rely on others in a scrabble up the table

I sympathise with the unpaid people trying to keep it going, but it's no longer somewhere I look for information. Same with the app, which I've now deleted as it just takes up memory for nothing really.

Neither will be that great until the new season in all likelihood. The app will be getting an update at some stage that actually makes it work, while the situation with the site is that while the Supporters Club have took over its running, there are only 2-3 of us who understand the back end. We're still waiting on a meeting between a bigger group of us to get everyone trained up - and thanks to SC funding of a camera we're also planning on adding stuff such as highlights etc next year.

In the meantime, it's a case of as and when we get the chance. I'd advise you to keep an eye on the site this evening though, as it will reveal news that will have you in shock #CoughlinReturns

As Redcar has said, its not really something I use anymore. Whilst older fans use it and it generates income through advertising etc, I feel social media is much better.

Thats not just for Berwick or football clubs in general, thats most things these days.

Edit: all I really want is regular updates on the gaffers beard throughout the summer. A thing of beauty.

Bald and Dargo gone.

That's just Jacobs, Willis and Gold I'd like to see added to those already signed up. Actually, I wouldn't be too fussed if Jacobs and Willis didn't sign, but I think Gold could get a lot better next year.

Would also like to see Miller play in the last 4 games this season, along with free chips from the van.

The club should be making the signing of Kyle Wilkie a priority, alongside a number one keeper and a quality striker.

I'd like to see at least 5-6 new first teamers coming in next season. Of the current squad, apart from the 6 who have already signed (Notman, Fairbairn, Young, Drummond, Henderson and Cameron), I'd like to see Willis and Gold back again. Willis has done well and added welcome goals from midfield. Gold has real ability but needs to bring game-changing consistency to his repertoire. I'd probably also keep Ben Miller as a squad player, though if we can sign Wilkie and add another couple of good midfielders his Shielfield days might be numbered. We also need geneuine pace out wide. I doubt we'll see Lavery back and as for Lee Currie, jury's out for me after a disappointing season from the best player in the league a year ago.

Close season is a test for the manager. Does he have the contacts in the game (or at least outside of Fife & Hibs) that can make the team title challengers?

Yeah, I would sign Willis - and since the gaffer picks him for every game I imagine he's offering him a contract right now - but he does need to work harder on his defensive duties.

Devon Jacobs is away to Australia by the end of the year, best you'll get from him is re-signing for a few months.
