Horror tackle

Well,in the context of my suggestion that the camera may have given us a false perspective on the tackle,I think that whether or not,he was hurt, does matter.

the boy was up right away and think he played the full game the tackle didn't look as bad in the game than it does looking at the photo

And that's more or less my point, bud as I think that the 'horror tackle' description is,like the actual tackle, wide of the mark.

I'm sure that most of us have noticed the so-called perspective compression (actually an optical illusion) that seems to bring distant objects closer together when we use a telephoto lens, and I believe this effect is evident in this photie, and that the big guy's foot isn't anywhere near as close to his opponent's leg as it appears to be.

In fact I'm sure that a view from behind Joe's left shoulder,or from the ref's angle would confirm that he had played the ball (look at the lines of sight of the three main guys in the pic) away and had,at worst, caught the Forth player a glancing blow. :)

No he hit him exactly where u see it, our player was very fortunate not to be injured! No optical illusion involved at all.

Glad to hear that the Forth boy is ok,though to say that he was 'very fortunate' might just be understating it because,if we take the photy at face value, then you've got to think that some ligament damage was the least he could have expected.
