thisGRAEME
Do you not think they are a bit...boring? I prefer a good old pineapple cake or a strawberry tart. I cannot even fathom the principles you're raising, let alone engage in discussion. You're wrong and you need to have a stern word with yourself. nsr
Why are they called Empire biscuits? Why not Republic biscuits?
jmothecat
Why are they called Empire biscuits? Why not Republic biscuits? My Grannie always called them 'German biscuits'.
jmothecat
According to wiki they were originally called 'German biscuits' then the First World War broke out so the name was changed to 'empire'. Apparently they are 'Scottish'.
Richie95
Empire Biscuits are great. Almost as good as teacakes.
scottmcleanscontacts
We were down at Rugby Park a couple of years ago when we were rooted to the bottom of the league. We explained to the girl behind the counter that we were all but relegated so they would have no use for a tonne of empire biscuits with Dundee badges on them. She agreed to give us a whole bag full of about 100+ biscuits for about a tenner - we then proceeded to give one to almost every Dundee fan in the stand as we only had about 100 there that day. What a pish support.
