Ludo*1
Retired due to 'ill health' then apparently goes and get steaming before threatening people in a pub.
ICTChris
If his wife is still on the council then I find her comments far more concerning than her boozed up husband. Also, I've never read anything less true than the McGoverns account of what happened in my entire life.

I'm Brian
I would fucking love to see some two bit councillor who happens to be on the licensing board take on Wetherspoons, because she thinks she can deny them a license, or make their life more difficult. She needs a good boot in the pie IMO

Gullane No 4
Nice story. I am a former Local Government Officer and once had a 'posh' guy giving me hell because I would not adhere to his unreasonable wishes. 'I am a personal friend of the Chief Exec. and I shall make sure he hears about this' he threatened.. I grabbed the phone and said 'hold on, I shall see if he is available'. Quick exit with muttering.
Benjamin_Nevis
Nice story. 'I am a personal friend of the Chief Exec. and I shall make sure he hears about this' he threatened.. I grabbed the phone and said 'hold on, I shall see if he is available'. Quick exit with muttering. One of the Arbroath councillors used to come up for meetings and demand one of the staff move their car so he'd get a space near the building. My boss put in a complaint about his behaviour so he'd park in disabled spaces instead, resulting in another complaint, much to his ire. Another one demanded disciplinary action because the receptionist didn't know who he was and wouldn't let him in for a meeting without ID.

Granny Danger
I must admit I have used the "Do you know who I am?" line on more than one occasion. Old age and memory loss is a bitch.
