St Mirren vs Killie

I thought we played pretty well, but Killie were awful. Wasn't sure about that second penalty. The hysterics from Pasquali after were brilliant though.

Thought Kelly and Baird were great at the back and Mallan bossed the midfield superbly. Hope we can replicate that next week,if nothing else to get the confidence up for next season. The kids didn't let us down today and I liked that.

Very strange game today.

Went along on automatic pilot mode; barely even looked at P&B or Virtual WB since the RC capitulation.

Knew we had no central defenders, and then heard that McGinn was out too, so expected a routine defeat.

Killie were poor, but part of that may have been down to Saints playing the pressing game at a level I've barely seen us do all season.

We played well, and stopped Killie - and we also got a good few breaks.

Opening goal from a Killie mistake which we punished; second from a deflection that bounced for us - then two soft penalties. The second one especially so.

Far too late, but good at least to see us play with a bit of purpose for the first time in what seems like an age.

Lastly, Kelly was incredibly good. He's been poor too often this season, but his all round performance was almost flawless.

Samson is out of contract if you want him back buddies???????

I'll personally deliver him to you if that helps?

Legend.

Applauded the Saints fans at the start of the second half, let in two shite Thommo penalties then walked the ball out his box.

He wants to come home. #ReturnOfTheGinge

Lucky for you Killie boys that the sfa said no to yer wee party. Not the best way to remember the 65 side.

f**k sake, he's been here for donkeys years. PASCALI.

Why pascali started is beyond me, he hadn't played in a while and he was truly awful today. Clearly rusty, syme should have kept his place. That's the worst I've seen Ashcoft and slater play.

I've never seen Kelly play at centre half before, and Jack Baird has about 3 senior appearances to his name. They were our partnership at the heart of our defence today.

They both strolled it against Magennis (apart from a ridiculously good from nowhere worldy) and Miller today.

Not sure if we've found a centre half duo to storm the Championship next season or it was just a one off...

I wouldn't let Barbour near a Killie team ever again.

Looked decent when he first broke through but is an absolute bombscare now.

Would have O Hara or Westlake at RB over him every day of the week.

Well where did that come from, it feels wrong saying I enjoyed a St. Mirren game this season but we were head and shoulders above a very poor Kilmarnock side.

As already mentioned, all the young lads did very well today but a special mention to Sean Kelly today, his best performance in a saint jersey thus far! Absolutely top drawer today and man of the match but quite some distance. We've found one of centre halfs for next season and Baird played well along side him.

I felt the team were United today and was nice to see all the other players congratulate Thommo with his goals.

It will be too little too late but at least this gives us a platform to build on for next year with plenty of young talent on show today and playing very well and with confidence.

That's a yes, legally binding too I think .

Heard it heard 1st folks, Samson is going back to feegie perk.

We can replace him with a rocking horse. I honestly think that'll improve our defending at corners.

The second is soft. Pascali stuck is foot out, missed the ball, Dayton took the invitation.

O'Hara was at right back, barbour played left of the defence

Speaking of full backs, I've seen Mark O'Hara play against us quite a few times and he's never been anything other than rotten. Gregg Wylde has been really poor this year but he absolutely roasted O'Hara today. I think Killie really need to strengthen at full back for next season if they want to improve, it'll be interesting to see what Gary Locke manages to cobble together in the summer.

24th April 1965,GLORY GLORY AYRSHIRE KILLIE, 25th April 2015,UTTER SHITE.

That is up there with the Ibrox Scottish cup game as the worst performance of the season from a goalkeeper who can't catch a ball to a defence that can't head a ball to a midfield that can;t pass a ball to one of there own players to strikers that can't kick a ball the whole team were complete and utter shite fact.

And if the rocking horse shits, you've got something marginally less rare than a St Mirren clean sheet.

Imagine if we did though...?

It's 100% not happening. Fingers crossed we can drag it out a bit longer though, promising stuff from the young guys today.
