Mitch
Looking for ideas for places to go to and visit around Central Scotland. Ideally less than 90mins drive of Motherwell (which should cover a fair bit of the country). I'm back in Scotland at the end of May and I promised the missus that I would try do a little more with her at weekends (one of the terms on giving up the tidy lifestyle out here!). I appreciate that there is so much to do on our doorstep but a few suggestions would be grand! Can be something active or not. Trying to avoid turning it into a booze session though! Johnny van Axeldongen
Bainsford's really nice this time of year. Kelpies, Bainsford, and then the Falkirk Wheel – a day to remember!

invergowrie arab
Take the boat on Loch Katrine. If your feeling fit you can do a one way trip and cycle back or climb Ben a'an.

LongTimeLurker
Bainsford's really nice this time of year. Kelpies, Bainsford, and then the Falkirk Wheel a day to remember! The Scottish Railway Preservation Society in Bo'ness and the castle in Blackness would be more sensible suggestions in that part of the world. Bainsford is a bit like being somewhere like Viewpark in Lanarkshire terms.
