4-0 Hibs

Steady on; you're no' bad, but you're no Livingston.

You've almost Hibs'd up second place, but a 0-0 draw while Rangers are pumping Falkirk will finish the job. And I only take pleasure from some of that statement.

I thought Hibs looked good in attack at Livingston last night and could have scored a few more goals. There were a few weaknesses there too but whether or not we are able to exploit them is a different matter.

We have had three very tight games with Hibs at the Recs this season. Away from home is a different matter and we struggled to create anything at all and were well beaten in the 2-0 defeat at Easter Road in December when we were right down to the bare bones. We were actually a bit unlucky with the goals that day, Ben Gordon slipping to allow them in for the first and a big deflection for the second, but I don't think we managed a serious shot on target. I'd hope we can turn in a much better performance this time but Hibs probably will as well.

We'll have a stronger pool this time and go into it with a bit of form too since the arrival of Danny Lennon. I remember being at Easter Road to see Danny turn on an inspired performance in a 3-1 Hibs win over Aberdeen. We could do with some similar inspiration from him on Saturday because even a point here would be a great result for Alloa.

A point would be a glorious result - it would guarantee we finish above Livingston, assuming we beat Cowden, and we won't deserve to stay up if we don't win that match. And you can bet the farm on Livi getting six points from the next two games; Queens ain't doing us unnecessary favours two years in a row.

I think we can get a point on Saturday. I wonder if Danny will go for a 4-5-1 or a 4-4-2 formation. We might as well go for it as Hibs are gutless when you take the game to them.

Gibson

Meggat

Doyle

Gordon

Benedictus

McCord

Flannigan

Holmes

Cawley

Chopra

Buchanan

If he goes 4-5-1 then I think Ferguson will slot into midfield in place of Chopra upfront.

1-2 Buchanan and Flanny

Don't know about that. Didn't Queens do you a big favour at the end of last season?

Cowden fans aren't very good at reading ful statements are you? He said "Queens ain't doing us any favours 2 years in a row" meaning last year and this year. ;)

The commentator went a bit too far there:

"Don't talk to me about Messi, don't talk to me about Ronaldo because you will never see a better goal than the one Liam Craig just scored!!"

"Well I think that was actually a cross"

Took a massive deflection according to our Twitter
