SouthLanarkshireWhite
Just wondering if supporting a different team from your dad is common or rare? I do, because my uncle got to me first. My mates grandfather took him to Tynecastle before his Hibs supporting dad.
Karpaty
My dad (and rest of the family) are rabid Rangers fan. I guess he is happy enough as apparently I showed an interest in Celtic before I started going to Clyde. I went to a catholic school so just followed the crowd with Celtic until as I say, starting going to Broadwood when I was about 5. Local team thing is pretty much the reason I started to support Clyde, no one in my family supports them and none of my mates did before. It's shite but I wouldn't change it for the world. bullywee
I have a friend who 'supports' Birmingham City because his dad supports Aston Villa. Bit of a pellet, that one.
Replays
My dad's team was always Clydebank but him and my mum moved to Cumbernauld and it's where I was raised so therefore, I support Clyde because they're my local team. However, my dad now goes to the games with me and my brotner and has effectively become a Clyde supporter so, it's an aye/naw answer from me. Jacksgranda
Our father was a Dons fan and I followed in his footsteps. However, my brother became a Hibs fans - no idea why. His eldest son followed in his footsteps, but the second loon is a Dons fan. The third boy has no interest in football, afaik.
Rovers1992/1993
Dads, a Rangers fan, I was brought up as a rangers fan, although I was only at about a dozen rangers games as a child. I saw light though when I was about 18 and followed the rovers since. I'm 23 now. My friends still take the mick due to me having been a rangers 'fan' as a child though.. tamthebam
My dad wasn't into football although being from East Wemyss if pushed he said East Fife were his local team. It was my pal down the street got me into football, he was a Hibee and then I supported Meadowbank. My mum's dad died before I was born but Granny said he used to rave about Wullie Bauld so I suppose he might have been a Jambo (despite coming originally from Aberdeenshire). DA Baracus
My old man wasn't that big in to football, but said that as a youngster he went to see Partick Thistle and Clydebank with his mates fairly often. Two of my mum's brothers were big Oldco fans and tried to get me to be, but I was having none of it, and after a lot of begging, my old man took me to my first Pars game in 1990 (old man was born in Glasgow, as was my mum, and he was in the navy and moved to Rosyth just after they had my older brother; I was born in Dunfermline). Adam
My Dad went to watch Thistle for a while and then started taking in Clyde games when he was in his 20's. Used to go home and away, but like SSB's old boy, hasn't been in years. I occasionally ask him along, but he's not interested. I went to watch Rangers a few times when I was younger as my uncle and cousin had ST, and if my cousin couldn't be arsed going, I'd go instead. Fairly chuffed I didn't start going more regularly! Although to be fair, I think he curses the day he ever introduced me to Clyde in all honesty!
BroadwoodBoy
Dad grew up in Swansea so as a lad followed them, has since moved up here & after Clyde coming to my primary school & after attending the football training over school holidays I got complimentary tickets & ever since both have been going to games! That was well over 10 years now... More low points than highs but wouldn't pick any other team.
