parsforlife
He is still contracted to CFC until this weekend Does this change anything apart from it means stenny needed to send you a letter? It certainly doesn’t prevent Harvey’s freedom to talk to other clubs(as huge swathes of players do) and agree terms for next season.

Don’t think this is the issue, it’s that stenny signed him, paraded him then when we said compy was due and even before an amount discussed, stenny ditched him. Either gross stupidity not knowing the rules or hoping we would cave in and let him go for nothing. as our chairman said, it’s not the way to do business. stenny didn’t actually have to offer anything but could have taken their chances at a tribunal. All a bit strange as is their silence now after trying to shift blame to Cowden.
Am Featha Taigh Nan Clach
This is administrative incompetence, not some devious ploy to tap up a player. We need to put out a proper statement, admitting we got things badly, badly wrong and apologising profusely to all parties so a line can be drawn under this. I hope Swann either accepts a contract from Cowden and has a good season or another club pays the fee so that he is not left clubless and out of pocket.
Brazilianlex
That latest statement from stenny is a complete cop out. No one putting their name to it and no explanation. Still not admitting their f**k up. Spineless b*****ds.

All a bit strange as is their silence now after trying to shift blame to Cowden. This is entirely fair. I’ve seen a couple of things from Cowdenbeath that are abit of a stretch but the overall principle you state is entirely true.Correct process would have been stenny informing Cowdenbeath over their intention to offer swann a deal, offer swann a deal and when accepted negotiate compensation, They either reach a deal, go to tribunal or choose to withdraw from negotiations.Had this happened then likelihood would Swann resigning for Cowdenbeath without the cloud hanging over him, he comes out without scrutiny over choosing another club, stenny look professional and Cowdenbeath don’t have any questions over ‘holding players back’(an accusation that’s unfair btw) Cowdenbeath’s problem is rightly with the public nature of this, nothing else needs brought up.
wulliemc
Is the compensation not at a fixed rate pro rata his wages and how long he has been with Cowden?Stenny would know the score if it was the other way round so they are at it.

The whole compensation aspect is largely irrelevant here, yes in the normal course of events where a player who at that ge group has been offered terms and his contract has expired is free to join another club, whereby the the recruiting club will initiate a discussion around any compensation agreement. We have been through that journey quite frequently most memorably recently Greg Stewart. However here we are looking at a club attempting to sign terms on a contracted player whilst under contract & being paid with another club without any proper discussion or engagement The aspect of compensation hasn't even entered the arena given the preceding shambolic amateur farce, the words clown & shoe spring readily to mind where thinking about the powers behind HenHousemanure. In summary compensation is not factor here the fault rests with baffoons who are unable to comprehend & comply with presribed established governance procedures.
Neilly
So we have now edited the statement on the website basically excluding the part that we couldn't agree compensation with Cowden and nothing else. That's probably even more embarrassing.

We never got any development fee for him but have subsequently had solidarity payments.

So is he the p***k that fucked up and is now posting the drivel to hide his own failings. ? If so, can someone at stenny please tell him he is just embarrassing himself. Time to man up and fess up you fucked up mate.

Your club did rather well out of Greg, receiving quite a few cheques in respect of cross border deals.

Christophe
The shambles rumbles on...edited statement now basically says no more than “the move didn’t happen, never mind eh”....can someone with an ear inside the club get a fucking hold of this please....it’s an absolute disgrace
Francesc Fabregas
"Brazilianlex"'s performance on this thread is almost as embarrassing as the Stenhousemuir FC board! Anyway, it's been a while since there was a bit of needle between Stenny and Cowdenbeath - who could forget the 2005/06 season? - so it's nice that Harvest Swan has brought both clubs together like this.

Amazing season under Mixu - some of the best football I've ever seen in the lower leagues. It was so tight though, we only won the league on goal difference (a good 20 goals better off though) and Stenny were only 3 points behind. That Stenny team with Cramb and McGrillan up front were scoring for fun - I think our best win was 6-0 and yours was 7-0 or 7-1.
Am Featha Taigh Nan Clach
As regrettable as this whole fiasco has been, seeing some Cowdenbeath fans get themself into a genuine state has been a silver lining. Brazilianlex and co. smashing away at the keyboard in a fit of pique. Thoroughly enjoyable stuff.

Hardly its a forum for fans to give their views and engender healthy debate or at least it used to be. Now it’s a audition forum for View from the Terrace !
Christophe
Our club officials can be embarrassingly incompetent AND you lot can be a seething, frothing mess. Those two things don’t have to exist in isolation. Both these things are happening. Edited June 8, 2019 by Christophe
