"From a non tangerine tinted viewpoint"

Hardly a neutral source though my friend

My viewpoint is 100% not tangerine tinted tbf.

I also couldn't be friends with someone who claims to support 2 Scottish teams simultaneously. Sorry.

Common knowledge Wigan wanted their money back on McKay (circa £250k) - Utd throw in 2 bids to get the juices of fans flowing knowing fine well they wouldn't be accepted. The article states Utd were willing to go as high as 6 figures. That implies (but can't be taken as fact I grant you) that Utd's bids fell below that 6 figure threshold. It is therefore a fair comment to class that as a token bid.

Common knowledge? To who?

I'd suggest that those outside Wigan and United's boardroom, had no fcuking idea what either party wanted, or were prepared to pay.

Just because papers throw about figures and even more laughably attention seekers on forums and twitter do, does not make it 'common knowledge'.

United were after a striker, and got one - to suggest that the club put in a bid, hoping to fail, simply to appease the fans is simply moronic - end of!

This is painful stuff.

Thankfully for you it is over for now.

Dundee have just made the signing of the season.

Sodexo in to fill the Lindleys gap and Scott brothers pies in the ground.

Something to really get excited about at Dens.

I'm a Scottish football fan with a strong interest in the Dundee clubs.

Unfortunately for you I also have a job in an industry that is currently dying on its arse which has left me decidedly underemployed and demotivated with constant computer and internet access while I'm at work between 6:30AM and 5:30PM

Today has been passing much quicker thanks to this thread and the posters within. I thank you all.

Mate, if you're bored, instead of wasting your life in here go read a good book. I would advise The Enemy Within by Seumas Milne, an excellent investigation into Thatch and her war against the miners.

I'm sure we could all suggest something that could keep your mind off United....

Quick catch up on the thread there. Seemed like 3 pages of Deefiant trying way too hard. Darko Bodul sounds like a Dundee signing though, can see why the c**t is so interested.

Wasn't even trying tbh. Far too easy.

United boss Jackie McNamara, meanwhile, confirmed he is waiting for a response from John McGinn after making an approach for the former St Mirren midfielder, 20.

So we are waiting to hear back from two central midfielders - if we get both, we really need to be kicking some out the door - the squad is getting ridiculously big now.

McGinn seems like a good signing, hope we pull it off.

Still expect Souttar to be gone by the end of the window, and perhaps Smith loaned out. I'd say Connolly too if we weren't already short on players who can play wide. Not believing the Rakes n Pants rumours, both will still be here.

Two or three strikers surely also farmed out. Bilate, Bodul, Muirhead core. Interested to see which of Murray (given game time in Holland, but didn't do anything) or Anier (not given game time in Holland) are given priority. One of Szromnik/McCallum loaned or punted.

Feedback I've had on Darko from a Sturm Graz fan is that he's a good all-rounder still with very good potential - technically proficient, able to play various attacking roles, best position is as a second striker. But he sounds a bit static, especially when the opposition has the ball. Lucky for us we have Murray the Labrador to do the runny stuff.

Deefiants only a couple of posts away from being the third highest poster in this thread, btw, with Deeboy keeping pace with him in fifth
