Granny Danger
More people died of old age. Ban getting old. Policy to be implemented by killing everyone by firing squad on their 50th Birthday. If you did it the day before their 50th birthday society would save a fortune in birthday presents and cards. Also people wouldn't need to think what to give other folk for that 'landmark' birthday.
dee_62
Are the NRA suggesting that firearms companies stop making guns and start making escalators? That would be genius! 41,000 lives could've been saved in 2013. Bloody gun industry and their lack of foresight.

We could do with more escalators here; folk look at you a bit confused when you say 'lift' whereas escalator is the same in both parlances Edited February 8, 2016 by carpetmonster

stonedsailor
It would be interesting to see how that compares with the likes of the UK, a comparison with Switzerland where a high percentage of the population own firearms would be worth looking at too.
Nick_BCFC
Not sure if this has recently been mentioned or not.... Susan Klebold, mother of one of the Columbine shooters, is doing her first ever TV interview on Friday night. She has a book coming out on Monday too. I'm quite looking forward to it but don't think there will be too much revealed than what we ready know.
topcat(The most tip top)
It's worth noting that in the US firearm suicides are about twice as common as firearm homicides with a significant number of additional deaths caused by firearm accidents To make a more meaningful comparison you should include all gun related deaths on the right hand side or only include people killed by being pushed down stairs or off ledges on the left.

topcat(The most tip top)
It's also worth noting that about half the deaths from falls reported in that statistic are amongst people over 85 and about 2/3 are amongst people over 75. Most US firearm homicide victims in 2013 were under 35
