And Brendan Rodgers heroically saving a young fan from our plastic pitch when he was halted by a Steward and fell down onto the pitch. Rodgers rushed over to put his arm around the bhoy and take him back to the stand.

Rodgers playing to the crowd and they all lapped it up, he's a hero again.

Saved the steward from having to take the kid back to the crowd himself TBF

No one voted to 'put Rangers out'.

Rangers died.

Actually, the clubs voted to put the New Rangers in (the bottom tier), rather than confining them to oblivion. Like (nearly) all the other liquidated clubs down the years.

Did they not become ‘Club 12’ for a time before they were liquidated? And the new entity reapplied to the SFL, obviously starting at the lowest tier. Was it Spartans who applied to join at the same time or have I made that up?

I think Dundee were Club 12 - they were by the end of the season, at any rate.

There was chat that The Spartans were contemplating applying but once it became obvious Rangers International were going to apply, Spartans withdrew. That's the way I remember it. (There may have been other applicants floating about.)

They tried getting into the top tier first (think oldco still had SPL membership and they wanted that to pass onto newco), that failed with fan pressure on the clubs voting on it, they then tried to get them into the 2nd tier, and that failed too, so they were allowed into the bottom tier. Revisionism by Sevco fans has them being relegated to the bottom tier.

Did they not try to buy St Mirren or something mental like that?

No, Sevco applied for the vacant SLF spot and got it. They wanted to be put in the SPL but that was voted down. No one voted them 'down'; they were voted admission (which they shouldn't have been). Some craven clubs wanted the new scum club in the SPL and thankfully that was easily defeated, as was an attempt to vote them in to the First Division.

That's what I said!

Not quite. I think a St Mirren board member at the time was ‘Rangers minded’ as they say, and St Mirren were in the middle of trying to complete the sale of the club to the fans group. Some people put 2 and 2 together and got 5, saying that there was an opportunity for Rangers fans to hijack the deal with them having a board member ‘on the inside’. I think it was complete nonsense, Rangers fans couldn’t even be bothered to throw in a few quid to save their own club so I don’t know how they were going to go about funding the purchase of St. Mirren.

An alternative Ulster, indeed!

Rangers entered liquidation.

SPL voted 10-1 (+1 abstention) against transferring membership to Rangers NewCo.

Rangers NewCo applied to SFL asking to join directly at SFL1.

SFL clubs voted 25-5 against that... 29-1 in favour of electing them to SFL3.

Were Kilmarnock the abstention, or the voters-in-favour?

Rangers for.

Kilmarnock abstained.

Was there ever a breakdown of which way the SFL clubs voted?

Stranraer totally against.

"The 5" were Falkirk/Hamilton/QotS/Forfar/Montrose (latter 2 undeclared) IIRC.
