maybe im being utterly stupid here but how the hell could you have a current scottish internationalist playing in junior football???? Im pretty sure that Gordon Strachan wouldnt be picking anyone that isnt good enough to play top senior level in the scotland team! Same for u21s & u19s, in fact for any age group - couldnt imagine Celtic saying to a player in their squad who is player u17s with Scotland - oh aye son go out to junior football it will make you better, p.s dont get injured as we've only invested 5 years of development in you.

If I read it right I dont think he mentioned Scottish Internationals just internationals in general who were picked for their country while playing in the Juniors.

Im sure there was one a few years back playing for on of the smaller nations, Malta seems to spring to mind

A few years ago Beith had a guy in doing pre- season training with us for one session amongst a few other fresh faces .

The guy was standing out a bit and in the dressing room after the training one of our goalies ( he shall remain nameless but he comes on here) approaches the guy and asks if he's signing with us as he was a complete standout but our goalie just took him as one of the trialists wanting to earn a deal.

The " new guy" smiled and sheepishly replied that he couldn't sign and we "lost out" on a current scottish international called Robert Snodgrass who only months earlier signed for Norwich in a multi million pound deal.

Snoddy is best mates with our captain at the time and came down for that session as he was up visiting from down south , Robert Snodgrass has since been at a few of our home games and always takes time to talk to the locals .
