squeezeboxson
Few things have to be taken into account. Both teams are very new and it is early to say how both will settle in. It looks right now that Dumbarton have a right team spirit about the club. From top to bottom everyone works for one another and we work hard to grind out results. Murray on the other hand seems to have created a team very similar to ours of last season. Small in stature, no creativity or options up front and when struggling, no plan B. It is early as I say, and both will have signings to make. As for today's match, yes Gibson and Routledge were quieter today but they were both booked quite early so on few occasions couldn't fully commit to winning the ball back. Was pretty frustrating to see Gibson got booked for dissent and having a go. But 2nd half when Thomson went mental after the foul on the 'keeper the ref didn't even think about it. Overall, thought the ref gave St Mirren too much protection in the middle of the park. Too many wee fouls that stopped the game from flowing. I said at half time and full time today, neither 'keeper had a save to make! For all the St Mirren 'pressure' after Aggy's goal they never worked Mark Brown once. Shows how close the game was though. Both had equal amounts of shots. Delighted with the result anyway. Onto next week, I hope none of our fans or players get carried away thinking it will be easy in the slightest. Very tough game expected!
djchapsticks
Just read the St m report and Murray thinks they dominated.st m fans that is a problem for you. Accept not much in the game but no domination. Agreed. He's taking a fair amount of stick for that comment, not only because it's inaccurate but it's worrying to think that's what he classes as 'dominant'. If we'd peppered your keeper with 25 shots and it was all last ditch defending, I'd accept it was just one of those days but it didn't go down like that at all. Bring Back Paddy Flannery
Where are folk seeing the post match comments from Muzz? Can't find them anywhere. I always felt he was a bit deluded at times, games where we would get pumped he'd say 'there wasn't much in it' or the likes. For him to claim that St Mirren dominated yesterday and that the result against Rangers was 'unfair' is making him sound more deluded than I thought. St Mirren had 2% more possession with the exact same number of shots on goal as us, wits he on about!? Watching St Mirren yesterday was like watching us last season. Narrow, negative and but for a wonder strike from Aggy never really looking like scoring. I still think the appointment of Spalding will come back to bite Murray in the arse. It's totally bizarre how his style has changed since the season we finished 5th, we were playing some unbelievable stuff that year.

Jan Vojáček
I'm pretty sure after we lost 1-5 to Livi last year Muzz said there wasn't much between the teams. I wouldn't read too much into it, he's just not expanded his managerial cliches to the level that the Alan Stubbs' of this world have. Great highlights, Mairdrink and good work getting them on so quickly! Nice to see #666Daz getting a lot of air time at the end, looking forward to him scoring the winner against Queens' and then getting sent off on Tuesday night after finally making his long awaited debut. Silvio
I didn't mean to be so disingenuous to Dumbarton with my earlier comment so apologies. I'm not as down as others. Gallagher missed a free header from 6 yards out at 1-1. He also shot tamely at the keeper when a cut back for Thommo would have been a certain goal. There were also two or three scrambles in the box after great play from Morgan down the left. If we'd got the winner I don't think there could have been many complaints. I've never beer Goodwins biggest fan but he is needed at the back. So is langfield. Murray is clearly trying to sicken Jim in the hope that he leaves quietly but its detrimental to the team at the moment.
geo87
The lack of Jim in our team right now depresses me. I think serious questions have to be asked about Ian Murray's squad management when an experienced midfielder who will be comfortable at this level is stuck on the bench, yet we have no cover in defence and a seriously ropey left-back in the starting XI. Hopefully Naismith will be ok. For fucksake. It's like reading black and white army. Granted I can't go to games so you are better placed to comment but "question his squad management" after 2 league games? He probably doesn't even know his best starting lineup yet. Start questioning him after 10 games at the absolute earliest! Despite the knowledgeable as ever Scottish media touting us as favourites to be up there, most of us knew this season will be a difficult one with us looking to rebuild both on and off the park. Jordo1872
Tremendous result yesterday and gutted to have missed it. As Wilf says above we shouldn't get carried away but there's nothing wrong with basking in the glory of an undefeated start to a league campaign given our historically poor start to seasons. I looked at our opening five fixtures and thought we would do well to be off the mark with a solitary point, instead we have six! Some of our older supporters will remember our appearance in the premier league in the 80s along with the odd Scottishh Cup run, but fir young whipper snappers like myself this is as good as its ever been. Many tough games ahead but we've shown we'll be no mugs this year. Good times to be a Dumbarton fan.

Doakes
Another great result for Dumbarton yesterday. Could be the surprise package this season, very impressed with Gibson in particular. As for us.... Gow - wage thief, his second touch is always a tackle Conlon - young, but not good enough. barely made a pass all afternoon - can tell he is out of his depth McMullan - has talent, very quick, skillful, but needs to be told to pass the f**kin' baw on occasions Great goal by Agnew, been impressed with him and Morgan. We have a bit of pace, but need some experience in there too. Hope Naismith's injury isn't as bad as first thought! On to Alloa, then the soapdodgers. Anything less than 2 wins is unacceptable. squeezeboxson
Forgot to say before and I know it doesn't make any difference really. But I thought Naismith just got his studs caught in the turf at the injury? Yet you were given a free kick which arguably led to the goal.

Highlights prove that, gibson was actually in front of him and he went down.
Bobby_F
Correct. Highlights prove that, gibson was actually in front of him and he went down. Might be the ref or linesman gave the foul for the tug as Naismith made his way through?

KTF So lets have a closer look. Thompson on the bench - our most experienced striker who is also a fan of the club. Goodwin - Our most experienced midfield ; defender sitting on the bench. Only three players were over 21 years of age yesterday whether you like the 2 above or not if you have a young team out you need older heads to help them through the game at this level. Morton will hurt us on Friday night if we don't get experience in to help these youngsters. Well done Dumbarton.

Thommo90
Might be the ref or linesman gave the foul for the tug as Naismith made his way through? Doubt it, as there was no tug. Gibson ran infront of him to get the ball, no tugs, no pulling, he's caught his studs in the pitch. 8min 20.

I'm one of those 'older supporters' (though I don't look it as I'm wearing well :-p ) but believe me, this start is just as enjoyable. Beating Hibs and St Mirren and sitting joint top of the Championship, even if it is only 2 games in, is brilliant.
