Peppino Impastato
I would guess the demographics of those areas have changed a lot recently. Lot of English retirees most likely. also international people who worked in the oil industry left too. There was a 19.2% drop in SNP support in Banff compared to 2.5% in Iverurie. Surprised anyone would need to have that spelled out to them.

Peppino Impastato
Stepping aside to give the tories a free run is still disgusting though, they should even stand someone just to take votes off them, but labour, the party of better 100 years of tory rule than one day of independence, would rather Scotland is governed by tories from London than social Democrats from Edinburgh.
Crossbill
My guess is that we'll find out exactly how much the fishermen love the tories, when they give away fishing access rights to the EU (again) as a bargaining chip to help get a banking passport.
Peppino Impastato
Yip, clowns that think the UK government give a f**k about fishermen in Peterhead need lobotomised. They are a bargaining chip is all.

Scotland's share of public sector spending is not only about the block grant. If you are going to make an economic argument, which will be absolutely critical to getting a Yes majority, then being less than honest with the numbers does not help. If the Brexit result has taught us anything about referenda it's that being less than honest with the numbers does actually help.

Does it? I am not sure what happened in the emergency budget but I am certainly not £80 per week worse off. Actually they don't seem to. The main elections are multi member constituencies but this seems to be a straight runhttps://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/council-and-democracy/elections/by-elections-results-for-banff-and-district-and-inverurie-and-district/ The SNP still have 2 out of the 3 councillors for Banff & District
