Dunfermline Athletic v Stranraer, 29th August 2015

Recommended Posts

After a disappointing away defeat to Peterhead, it was important we gave a good account of ourselves against Dundee mid-week in the League Cup. We did one more than that and knocked them out of the competition.

There'll be extreme positivity and confidence in the dressing room now. Stranraer have been brilliant the past two seasons, but now that Aitken has gone they were always going to be looked on less favourably to be challenging this season. They still have decent players in their team, though, ones we have to watch out for. Mainly Stirling, Bell and Thomson. Lee Mair is a good, experienced defender and Longworth can cause some headaches for defenders.

Confident we'll get all 3 points. No point in changing the starting XI, although it will be interesting to see if there's any new faces on the bench. Going for 3-1 Pars victory.

Imagine Faiss being here from when he played with the under 20s right up until his retirement, aged 37 and in excess of 500 league appearances.

I hope Thompson is still as 'good ' at marking players as he was with us, that should open up lots of space for attacks. On the other hand he will be a threat in our box so Geggan and the Centre Halfs will need to be on their game.

Chances of Faissal still being here.........................
