Elgin v Berwick

Recommended Posts

Steve Notman came through 60 mins of last night's excellent 4-3 win at Beath in the Devpt League, and reported feeling fine. Thank feck for that.

With reports that Elgin field 2 giants in the back 4, I'd be inclined to give Henderson a rest and play 5 in midfield.

Elgin residents should be warned that we are sending our German representative up for this one. Go get 'em Walter.

Wonder which Berwick side will turn up?

Walker

McNeil Ainslie Fairbairn Drummond

McKenna Notman Graham Coultress

Lavery Henderson

Or, alternatively:

Neil Young

Davie Moyes Mark Cowan Craig Valentine Alan Banks

Davie Smith

Martin Neil Jimmy Morton

Peter Davidson Kevin Todd Scott Sloan

I'd take a point now. We need to get some consistency going. We've done well so far in terms of collecting points but we've only produced two above par performances in 5 league matches to date, and 3 pretty shite ones. That needs sorting. it's also disappointing that there's no sign so far of the squad being strengthened. there are some very obvious weak points and they have'nt, as yet, been addressed.

4 - 1.......I'm glad I didn't travel North for that one........Berwick never seem to play well at Elgin....I've been to 2 or 3 away games at Elgin and have never seen a win yet. Disappointing of course but lets hope the team can pick themselves up and have a better game when Annan visit next weekend.

Given the scoreline you'd think it was an easy win! Nothing between the teams, and if anything Berwick came out on top first half. Elgin played much better in the very windy conditions second half, and two quick goals knocked the stuffing out of them. Several Berwick players loosing the plot late on. Very happy with the win

No idea what it is with the team in games away from home.

Discipline I would say - five yellow cards. Too many Berwick players seemed to lose the plot when things didn't go their way.

As others have said; at 3-1 it was still very even. Elgin just made, and put away their chances.

I was impressed with every Elgin player's appetite for work today - they all put in a good shift.

Three cracking goals to watch on ECTV tomorrow. (two for Elgin and McNeil's wasn't too shabby either!)

I always think elgin and berwick are the 2 toughest places to get a win especially for us we never seem to do well at both places. I think we last won up at elgin 2011 hopefully that will change this season though!

Typical Highland Shinty pitch but it's the same for both teams so..

Hopefully Cameron will make them watch the 'highlights' before training on Tuesday. Back post defending is non existent. More shots on and off target as per usual and then paying the price with another away pasting. Which Berwick will turn up this weekend?
