Loki
This will be the first time in the Open era (I don't know if it has been done before that) that two brothers will have played against each other at doubles.
Mark Connolly
Is the Murrayfest likely to be on the telly?

H_B
Murray and Peers should win handily.
Tommy Nooka
Murray and Peers should win handily. Leander Paes might be getting on a bit but he's a multiple doubles slam winner. He's not going to go down easily, and unless Andy decides to tank it neither will he.
booitsme7
Glasgow's Emirates Arena has been confirmed for the Davis Cup semi-final with Australia. Andy Murray against Tommy Robredo was rained off at 4-4 in the first set and will resume tonight.
H_B
Leander Paes might be getting on a bit but he's a multiple doubles slam winner. He's not going to go down easily, and unless Andy decides to tank it neither will he. Its a scratch pair against an in form and regular top doubles pairing. As I said Murray and Peers should win and will be expected to do so.
H_B
Going to try get tickets for Davis cup on the Saturday, can anyone speculate on how hard it will be to get tickets ? Tickets go on sale for BTM members on Tuesday. Public sale of leftovers on Thurs. I don't think it will make Thursday with any left.. However.. There's still time to become a BTM member before Tuesday. Get on the website and pay 15 or 20 and guarantee yourself a ticket. If you've been at an earlier tie you also get access to the Tuesday priority sale.
StevieLes II
So if I were to join, would I then be only guaranteed one ticket?

Widge
One of the great advantages being a club level player not having to pay for membership. I'm gonna go, just no idea what day to chose. It's got to be either Friday or Saturday. Certainly the doubles atmosphere is always electric since it can be make or break. Then again you get potentially double the amount of tennis on the Friday.

Mr Bairn
Think Andy Murray and Paes will win. Andy Murray would be a top 5 doubles player if he played regularly.
booitsme7
Andy Murray has beaten Tommy Robredo 6-4 7-5 and will play Gilles Muller next who beat Gael Monfils 6-3 3-6 7-6.
Loki
Think Andy Murray and Paes will win. Andy Murray would be a top 5 doubles player if he played regularly. If he played all the time he would be better than the Bryans, but you could say that about any of the top ten singles players. As experienced as Paes is, the chemistry between Murray and Peers will be far better. They are quite rightly favourites. Plus with it now been moved till tomorrow Murray will be playing Muller before he plays the doubles. That could easily go three long sets if he serves well. With a QF possibly to prepare for you would have to ask how much his heart will be in it, despite getting to play his brother. Cilic got beat by Tomic today, so that would be an easier QF for Murray if he gets past Muller. Although he deals with Cilic rather well. H_B
If he played all the time he would be better than the Bryans, l. I don't think that's true at all. Its a completely different game. He might be top 10 in the world at doubles but he might not. There's a lot more depth in doubles. He's had some decent Davis Cup doubles results but also some rubbish ATP losses, with decent partners .
Loki
In a very heated match last night Wawrinka retired against Kyrgios. After losing the first set in a tie break, he went on a foul mouthed rant at the umpire. He got a code violation and he seemed to calm down. At the start of the second set, Stan said something to him while he was about to serve. He then walked half way up the court and said "Kokkanikas has banged your girlfriend". Stan was broken that game, and lost the second set.

There's a lot more depth in doubles. He's had some decent Davis Cup doubles results but also some rubbish ATP losses, with decent partners . Tactically it is a far different game. But it just takes a solid partner and adaption to the different tactics used. A good singles player would always be able to adapt if they played doubles full time. Pospisil and Sock won the Wimbledon championships as a scratch pairing. Yeah he has had some honking results. I wouldn't have him as a top 50 doubles player right now. Him and Djokovic were not a good pairing in the slightest. Also think that singles players take wild cards for the doubles, and tank them after a match to concentrate on the singles at the expense of other doubles pairs out of the top 16.
Northsea80
Would you see Andy and Jamie becoming permanent doubles partners in a couple of years when Andy starts to wind down on his singles career?
