Lex
Fantastic tournament by Andy. His best major for years. Hasn’t made the second week but exits having made a real impact. Just doesn’t have the body to do three five set matches in such a short period, and no wonder.

Lex
That's the quarter final draw sorted then. Murray's conqueror Bautista-Augut got dumped out in four by the unseeded Tommy Paul, to set up a rare sight in the majors, a completely unseeded QF against fellow American Ben Shelton. Djokovic is playing ominously well, he humped home crowd hero de Minaur in straight sets, dropping only five games in the process. He's obviously the clear favourite, but of the seven other players left I think the one who could cost him the most problems in Rublev, and he's playing him next.
Lex
And that's the semis sorted. I said Rublev could cause Djokovic problems, he did not. 6-1, 6-2, 6-4, easy peasy for Novak and he makes his 46th (!) Grand Slam Semi, where he will play the unseeded American Tommy Paul. He will surely then play the winner of Khachanov and Tsitsipas in the final, where he will be big favourite to equal Nadal's record of 22 grand slams. Lex
No upsets in the semis then, Djokovic through in straight sets (again). He's made the final only dropping one set in six matches, which was a tie break in round two. He will face Tsitsipas in a repeat of the epic French Open final of 2021, where the Greek went two sets up and still lost. Any chance Stefanos causes an upset here? Probably not no, but I suppose stranger things have happened. Hopefully at least see a competitive final, but I suspect it will be a three set blow out and slam number 22 for the Serb. Florentine_Pogen
Just caught highlights of Sabalenka's semi-final. Fuxake, her shrieking and grunting is unwatchable. Really hope that Rybakina, who is as quiet as a church mouse, can put her gas at a peep. ETA - Ach, shite................................ Lex
Tsitsipas played superbly in that second set there. Had a set point, and then got it to 4-4 in the tie break. Still lost it and now he’s two sets down…. Hard to see a way back for him now he looks crestfallen.
Lex
It’s over in straight sets as expected. The most routine of routine slams for Djokovic. He played 22 sets in the tournament, and won 21 of them. No one came close to even giving him a test, never mind actually beating him. Ten Australian open titles now and he matches Nadal on 22 slams. Surely only a matter of time before he over takes him and goes out on his own as the greatest. He’ll be favourite for the next three slams, number 25 is possible by the end of the year.

Watched the 3rd set, some effort to save the match points and recover from 3-0 down in the tie break. Will fancy his chances against Zverev in what will be only his 5th singles match since the French Open.
Loki
That’s the 15th time in his career he’s saved match points on his way to victory. He’s lost six matches in his career from having match points. Three of them in 2012 in consecutive weeks to Jankowicz, Raonic and Djokovic. He famously saved five match points in consecutive finals against Tommy Robredo.
GaryMc93
Murray takes the first set on a tie break against Zverev. Got broken twice in the set but broke back straightaway both times.

Mark Connolly
He is genuinely ridiculous. How he can play like that anyway, never mind with a metal hip
