HoBNob
The 'Ayr select' team just won convincingly away to a decent Albion Rovers side. By all accounts the Albion Rovers side really struggled after three weeks without a game.
Gigi Alabocheré
No matter what way we look at it, it's 2 points clawed back by Ayr. Their tie had the potential just to be as tricky as ours. A point away to Peterhead is decent. Hopefully a win on Friday against Airdrie to take the game to 10 points and extent this great unbeaten run. parsforlife
So we should celebrate the Pars select gaining a point. After all we are missing 3 key defenders with long term injuries. 4 defenders out. Chessy clearly wasn't fit or he'd have started.
HoBNob
7 Points ahead with a vastly superior goal difference, a point in Peterhead was more than adequate. Is there anyone in Scotland/The UK who have a better gap at the top of the table?
parsforlife
Yep, had we been level on points before today and ayr gone top with the results then I doubt it would be viewed as a good point, but when you create a gap then some of the tougher games become drawable. NewBlue
4 defenders out. Chessy clearly wasn't fit or he'd have started. We don't even have 4 defenders in our whole squad Still not sure how we are continuing to get away with it.

Is there anyone in Scotland/The UK who have a better gap at the top of the table? You have to go to the Highland or Lowland league. Brora have a 9 point gap over Cove at the top but have played 3 more games. In the Lowland League Edinburgh City have an 18 point gap over Stirling Uni but have played 5 games more. In League 2 Elgin have a 5 point lead over Queen's Park and East Fife (and East have played a game more than them both).

But aye, for this stage of the season the gap we have is fantastic.
callum-ayr
By all accounts the Albion Rovers side really struggled after three weeks without a game. That was our first game since January 2nd. Although you may have 2 defenders out long term (Fordyce and Williamson?), you've got the budget to then bring in the likes of McAusland and McKay to replace, and have the squad size to loan out Spence. That's not a dig about over spending, it's just an observation.
kdypar
Mcasuland and Martin are both out as well.
NewBlue
Highlights are up: Fairly short for a change, but I guess that is maybe because of a lack of chances.
da_no_1
There is no way on earth that an away game at Albion Rovers can be viewed as anything like as tricky a tie as ours was at Peterhead. We'll hopefully be 10 clear again by the time Ayr play again. Then we'll see how they cope.
No_Problemo
I believe you got the same result from Albion Rovers and Peterhead away....

Poet of the Macabre
Would liked to have ticked off Balmoor but sounds like I missed an absolute stinker of a match. A decent result but nothing more and it extends our excellent unbeaten league run to 15 matches. Only two away from equalling the club record if I'm not mistaken. Shandon Par
Sadist I watched about 2 minutes, got the gist and gave up. Would have been a good few points on the board if it had been a rugby game.
callum-ayr
Would have took a draw before a ball was kicked. Decent enough result even with Ayr winning. Balmoor and EEP are the hardest grounds in this division. Thought i'd raise the point of Ayr having a home win percentage of 70% (7 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat) to Peterheads 45% (5 wins, 5 draws and 1 defeat) and Dunfermlines 63% (7 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats)
DA Baracus
For some reason a lot of our fans believe that Peterhead are better than Ayr, despite what the league table states.
