Killie vs County - 01/03/16

Recommended Posts

Despite the incredible anticipation building up for this fixture, no match thread has been started yet...

Killie looking like the team most likely to be caught by United, County have about 8 teams all about to leapfrog them, and are on a really poor run (5 losses in last 7 league games) so a bit of pressure on both sides.

Prediction: 3-2 County..

Missing this unfortunately. Ross County, having looked excellent in the early part of the season, are starting to look like they've rested on their laurels to an extent.

Lee to pick up his first win at RP. 2-1 to Killie.

I really want to go, but I phoned the club on Friday and there's not enough interest for a bus to run. :thumbsdown

I really not surprised. The last time, (I think), we played you up there it was midweek 7.45 kick off and tomorrow night the same again. The footballing authorities really do care about their fans don't they?

Anyway. 2-0 Killie.

It looks like County are concentrating on the cup which is fair enough . Super Lee to drill this into the players and instill a get it right uppem from the get go . Killie to race to an almost insurmountable 1 v 0 half time lead only for Gardyne to complete his hatrick in the last 10 minutes as we run out of puff in 60 minutes .

Pleased to see Killie have ditched that ridiculous pay in advance / pay on the day price difference. We had to pay £24 rather than £20 back in August because we didn't purchase directly from Ross County in advance. Of course, Ross County weren't actually selling any tickets in advance, so it was blatant profiteering from Kilmarnock.

There would have been more of a fuss about that had we not then gone on to horse Killie 4-0. Under normal circumstances, paying £24 to watch Kilmarnock play would have been Celtic-levels of ridiculous pricing!

Disappointing there's no supporters bus coming down from the Highlands, but there'll be a few of us at least from Edinburgh and Glasgow heading along. County are on a pretty dire run of form, so hopefully Kilmarnock can help us out of our rut.

I'd go with:

MacDonald

Hodson Balatoni Findlay McHattie

Dicker Slater

Kiltie Faubert Obadeyi

Magennis

Faubert was a lot more dangerous on Saturday when he came central, and it looks as if the #10 role will be his position for us. Findlay was poor on Saturday, however I'd still rather him in defence than Ashcroft who has reverted to type it seems. Obadeyi, whilst still his frustrating self, looks to be improving so I'd stick with him if McKenzie is still out.

No idea what the score will be, but we really need to start taking something from games.

County... 5 losses in last 7 league games..

Amazing, then, that we are in the exact same league position now as we were at the start of this awful run. St Johnstone have picked up even less points than us (5 to our 6) in their last 7, and are also same position as back then.

During this run, the fact we've somehow stayed up there despite our awfulness has at times had me thinking we're simply destined to finish top 5. If we win tonight, I'll be feeling that again! Or are we, finally, about to spiral down the table?

Prediction: Erm...
