RiG
It seems pretty clear that relations between Hughes and the ICT board are strained. Especially with the recent "Sit down" statement issued by the club. If United were to approach ICT I reckon they would let Hughes go subject to any compensation of course. I think most ICT fans would be pretty 'meh' about it if it did happen as well. Granny Danger
Ray McKinnon. I'd prefer Jim McIntyre but I couldn't see any circumstances under which he'd take it. I'd punt Mixu but hold off on appointing a new boss until Thompson does the decent thing. Let the players pick the team for a couple of weeks, or Bowman, or the tea lady. Maybe draw straws for the starting XI. Looking forward to watching a more cohesive unit. By 'do the decent thing' do you mean sell his majority shareholding in the club? That could be a protracted exercise, we can't wait until that happens to get a new manager.

Pull My Strings
By 'do the decent thing' do you mean sell his majority shareholding in the club? That could be a protracted exercise, we can't wait until that happens to get a new manager. That's a fair point. I meant stepping down as chairman. Whether he continues as a shareholder will depend on whether someone is willing to buy his shares and whether he's prepared to sell them for what they're actually worth (as opposed to what he would like them to be worth). I suspect that there are guys out there who would buy but I'm less convinced that Thompson will sell at a fair price.
