Deeboy
Shall I prepare myself for the 2 million bid coming in for Hayes then ? You can do whatever you like. They're entirely different players who play in different positions and one of which is nearly 29 years old. You'd be a fool to, in my opinion. Deeboy
You should put a wager on Hemmings being sold for 2 million quid. What a stupid post. He could easily fetch £3m and I'd be out of pocket.
PauloPerth
And if he has a good season next year then you're looking at selling him next Summer, which is when hes only got a year left on his deal. Which brings the price down again. You can bet your house on his agent whispering in his ear about getting a pay day so he wont extend his contract, so you either sell him when you can or wait on it expiring. We got £800k plus a raft of clauses for May who was younger. Id be surprised if you could get much higher than £1m. The Stevie May comparison was the one that went through my head. The only difference would be May was in his last year of contract. We thought he was worth far more but others didn't. When you look at players sold for decent sums from Scottish provincial clubs in the past couple of seasons, you see why nobody's desperate to splash out a fortune on them: May, Armstrong, Gauld, Mackay-Steven, Christie, Allen, Cifti, O'Halloran and others I've no doubt missed.. As yet unfortunately not one of those has been a success.

Both clearly development signings but I think both are out on loan just now having barely played for their parent club's first team.
RandomGuy.
McGrandles and Hendrie werent close to them fees though, that was the total after clauses. Id be surprised if Hamilton have earned a third of that amount yet.

More than Aberdeen can afford to splash out on 1 player certainly. Whats the most you've paid in say, the last 5-6 years?

Especially with the Hendrie deal being quotes as being a 'compensation package' it'd stand to reason that it'd be dependent on add-ons etc.
Mackiemyday
I would be very surprised if we bought a player for more than 300k (what we paid for McLean) in the next few windows.

gkneil
I feel we need (in order of priority): GK - A struggle here, as it's not a shot stopper (Jamie McDonald being an example) we need but someone who will get the most out of our back 4 in terms of organising them and who's decision making can be consistently relied upon. I haven't seen enough of McGovern & Cerny in all honesty to comment on them CM - Still crying out for a big, mobile ball winner to protect the defence and compliment Jack. Irvine would do the job, but unlikely to get him CB - The need here is a bit dependent on the GK situation. A good GK would help us in spades but without that we need a new guy to step in for Reynolds. Ash can clatter about and win aerial stuff all day, but we need cover with pace and a good touch who makes decisions. I have no idea who we could get Wing- I'm losing faith in McGinn with his inability to be consistent and perform in the biggest games. He spends far too much time going through the motions. Hard to knock the asissts and goals he chips in with throughout a season, but I feel we're not getting everything we should from him. Stewart would be my choice but there's a price. There's no chance we could or will pay the fee Dundee would want for Hemmings.

DensParkNumber1
Aberdeen wont be signing Stewart, Hemmings or Bain as they arent rich or big enough. Deal with it

However, I doubt Dundee will be able to keep hold of them for long, for the same reason.
