Sooky
Think John Scott, the Tory who was Deputy PO in the last parliament is throwing his name in the ring also. I know that it's done by a secret ballot, but will the SNP likely reach a decision as an entire group (as they always seem to enjoy doing) or leave it up to individual members? glasgow-sheep
And another thing, in one of Ruthy's first speeches after the landslide she apparently won she said she'd block or at least delay the named person scheme. Can she actually manage that? I hope not because of all the twaddle that politicians of all sides spout, the NPS is the most obviously good and easy to understand policy I've ever heard. It's also the one I read and heard the most outright lies about. I read that the greens back the NPS so the Ruth party can do f-all

Sooky
Swearing into the new parliament is providing potential for some amusing names. Current winner is Alexander James Amhurst Burnett of Leys.

Sooky
Ken Macintosh the favourite with a fair amount of SNP support apparently. You also get paid over £100k a year, decent gig to get. Seems interesting that Lamont got Wightman of the Greens as her second.

The Master
1st round: Ken Macintosh 58 votes Murdo Fraser 23 votes Johann Lamont 23 votes John Scott 17 votes Elaine Smith 7 votes Elaine Smith eliminated. Those numbers suggest that it'll be Ken Macintosh.

Sooky
I know the Tories and Labour would be swapping, but it seems the Lib Dems have moved to stay alongside the Tories on the other side of the chamber, whilst the Greens stay in their usual area. Macintosh looking fairly certain after the 2nd round, especially since Fraser and Lamont keep tying for 2nd which means there is no real alternative for people who'd rather someone else to unite behind.
