So how can a distraction from football about politics be about politics suiting many people at the club? Being old enough to remember John Profumo incident - all politics since then has bored me to tears. So that's why not ALL of us are enjoying the distraction.
Sao Paulo
Aye, well. Please yourself. Trivia: John Profumo held the now lapsed office of Secretary of State for War. This is back when the country had balls, of course. Who was the last person to hold that office?
cfcuk
But politics pre-1963 didn't bore you? Those were the days. Politicians were held to account, and people demanded heads on plates. Mixing with Soviets, honestly. You wouldn't catch Gideon Osborne up to that. His pal, Stephen Ward, was his introducer to Christine Keeler and Mandy Rice-Davies. Pair of darlings. Ward also handled the last female to be hung in the UK, (Ruth Ellis), who starred in films with Diana Dors. And, along with Dr Richard Asher (Real Paul McCartney's future FiL at his time of death) Ward was heavily involved in the creation of modern music as the main operational tool in mind control and surveillance. Some suggest Epstein sold his farter to the same cult to get the Beatles their gig at EMI. Answer. James Ramsden. Even better some cinematic history thrown in for good measure

LiviClyde
This thread is stretching my memory cells beyond their ageing capabilities! Can we get back to Clyde please. Who saw Reporting Scotland tonight? Discuss. (If you didn't see it, watch it on iplayer before discussing)

Fat Sally
There is not a fucking chance that the BBC thought of speaking to Stevie Tennent as an ex player without him contacting them first. It's a murky case and but using it to improve his own image is disgusting.

The fan they spoke to, Gordon Lennox, spoke very well on the matter and if you post here you are a credit to your club, sir.

Fat Sally
That's one seat on the bus to forfar taken [emoji23] Seriously though, as a Clyde fan, would Tennent be the first person you thought of if looking for an ex player? He's a non entity and even more so to people not connected with the club.Pat Nevin would have been a more sensible choice. The BBC have his number and he has a history of being involved in anti discrimination and anti sexism causes. Tennent clearly only got to give a comment because he has contacted them and asked to stick his oar in.Another thing, and it's a good thing for the team is that the 2 people ultimately responsible for the Goodwillie signing have not even had a mention in this whole saga. McGovern and Macdonald seem to have avoided any scrutiny for the decision to make the signing. It's good that it keeps the media presence away from the first team but it's really piss poor journalism.

Have they asked John Ruddy about the signing being an NLC agenda yet?
Jack Burton
So what do you think their agenda is ? Nobody knows. Stevie Tennent was asked repeatedly on here and on the Facebook group to provide some details of their ideas for the club. He was unwilling to do so.
David W
If ever there was a group of people who shouldn't be involved at Clyde, it's this rabble. They somehow end up being worse than the club itself at displaying a professional image; the embarrassment at the AGM, the nonsense on here/facebook and now this. A PR success they are not.

No I think the people escaping scrutiny ( if you think that is required ) is the board they sanctioned it All this has done is highlight theIr total incompetence , did they really think this wouldn't happen ? Instead of signing Goodwillie they should have spent the money on getting an experienced manager in months ago But as usual the apologists have managed to deflect any blame , couple of months ago the bogeyman was Ferguson, then Malcolm now ex players and directors. What this episode has shown doesn't matter what they do excuses are made for them As has been said plenty times you get the club you deserve
Fat Sally
Instead of signing Goodwillie they should have spent the money on getting an experienced manager in months ago Considering he has signed on amateur terms I doubt they are spending any money. That would be against the rules. An experienced manager should have been brought in but it's obviously not because of Goodwillie taking the wages instead.

Yeah amatuer terms means you get paid nothing [emoji23]It's always the same no matter what catastrophic decisions people running the club make , it's always deflected who cares who came on the telly , this mob had taken the club to the brink of lowland league put the club on the front page of national newspapers ( rightly or wrongly) but all we are worried about is an ex player coming on telly to give an opinion ( whether he contacted them first is totally irrelevant ) which has no bearing on the direction the club had taken
